Great service
The last two times that I have submitted a claim there were processed timely and the amounts were deposited back into my checking account. Their phone app is so easy to use to submit claims.

great service with quick payment.
They provided excellent service; they processed the claim quickly ; there was a delay because the hospital and the vet needed to provide more information, and they had not responded, so they had to request it more than once, but they kept me informed about the reason for the delay.
Of course there is a deductible, but we were quite satisfied with the reimbursement .

Impressed!
We had talked about getting pet insurance when we brought our puppy home and decided it was just a waste of money.....big mistake. Before he turned a year he had injured his leg and needed surgery. After that we talked...almost made the same call [nothing more could go wrong]....decided ultimately to not risk it. That was the wisest choice we made. This same dog began experiencing seizures so severe we almost lost him. So I filed the claims and waited to hear back. This was going to be the test for Trupanion....one way or another I was going to write a review...trust them or not. I am relieved to say...they are true to their word. They have paid on the claims exactly as they said they would...no games. Their customer service is also to be applauded. They were patient with my questions and thorough in providing answers. This was/is money well spent.

Very happy with Embrace
Sometimes it takes a few weeks to be paid for a claim, but they've covered everything so far, so I can't complain! Very happy with this insurance and so glad I have it.

Great... Until They Want to Get Cheap
I must confess: I feel kind of stuck with Embrace. While I do love that they cover 80% of my dog's bills (after the deductible), I find that they can get SUPER nitpicky about these "pre-existing conditions." For example, I adopted a shelter dog. He had a kennel cough when I adopted him (as so many shelter dogs do). Unfortunately, he also managed to catch the canine flu during Chicago's massive outbreak. Because he had that cough when I first got him (which was prior to his Embrace coverage), Embrace refused to cover his nearly $300 bill because we couldn't get the sample at *just* the right time for it to test positive. Hid vet even talked to them and explained the situation, including how difficult it was for a test to come back positive.
Aside from that, not long after he came home with me, he basically decomposed a bit & started peeing everywhere in the house (this is also a common thing that happens when a dog's living environment changes). Unfortunately, he also eventually got diagnosed with anxiety. I also managed to gain a wheelchair, so we had to move to accessible housing while he was seeing the behaviourist. Once again, he started peeing shortly after the move. We had him tested for a UTI, etc. & ultimately, it was determined to be a behavioural issue – again, something very much expected in any dog. Embrace had been fine covering my dog's anxiety meds for over a year. Then suddenly, they decided that since my dog had peed inside before his coverage began, and because it wasn't a UTI, Embrace decided to stop covering all treatment for his anxiety. So now we can't even afford a behaviourist to monitor his wellbeing.
That said, they've been really great at covering all our ER visits, which has truly been a lifesaver! The claim processing is super swift and my reimbursement is usually in my bank within a week of me filing.

Claims processing
Trupanion insurance processes claims quickly and the deductible per condition with no yearly rollover is a nice feature. My only discontent with the insurance is that although your pet's premium is permanently based upon the age of your pet at sign up that does not mean your premiums will not increase over time due to other factors.

Claim form
I was unable to download and print a claim form. The rep said I don't need a vet to fill out the form or sign the form. This seemed incorrect to me, so I will send in my claim form and receipts and call back if I have any further issues.

Rep was great
The rep I spoke to was great. I am disappointed that I cannot add on the holistic option without my pets being covered for their current conditions. I would understand if this option was offered to me however I have never seen an email offering this option or received a call advising this option has been added. I would have absolutely added this option if offered earlier.
