I acquired my puppy, Kissy on 05/12/2017 in the late afternoon and took her to De Anza Veterinary on 05/15/2017 the following Monday since the breeder suggested for a Vet checkup as she always recommends all her clients and so we did. Our little Kissy was deemed extremely healthy and she had a slight hernia. The next day we purchased Trupanion Insurance for Kissy not knowing the preconditions would be a factor (one day). I guess I should have had a crystal ball in front of me to purchase pet insurance prior to acquiring my puppy Kissy. My intentions were innocent because we had another dog who unexpectedly got sick and we spent thousands of dollars hoping for her to get better and unfortunately we lost her. It was devastating for us and I did not want that to happen with our new addition to our family. So we decided to purchase pet insurance through Trupanion and this is the first time we have ever in our lives have had pet insurance because I want the best for my Kissy. So I was surprised to find out of the preconditions we missed out by one measly day. Gosh we were so happy to have pet insurance and now I question are we going to be ok down the path if God forbid something for the worst may happen to our Kissy. I want to trust Trupanion mostly for our Kissy to have a chance for the best long life as possible. I understand dogs don't as long as people, but we want the best for our Kissy's life time.

The first representative I spoke to did not send me the cancellation email as we discussed. When I called back a manager handled everything for me.

Trupanion has been great but my one frustration has been monthly premiums consistently increasing without warning or explanation, thanks!

Truepanion can only do as much as they can with the information that they receive from the vet my authorization for my Pat was delayed which I found out it was based on the fact that the final invoice which I have paid in full had not been forwarded to Trupanion Pet Insurance .

Finding it frustrating lately, we typically have great experiences but lately its been difficult. For example: we are prescribed a probiotic from our vet for allergies and its sometimes covered and sometimes not, and when not we have to appeal it. And the recent claim was a result of allergies but because it was described as the actual thing (cyst) we had to pay a deductible, which seems wrong to me.

Not sure how your coverage compared to there insurers. For us if often feels we pay a lot monthly to only get a small portion covered

the rep I spoke to was GREAT! My reluctance to recommend trupanion has to do with the issues I have experienced with Trupanion challenging my claims... I have spent thousands of dollars on medical bills with almost zero help from Trupanion
