Best decision we made
From the moment we began adopting Bernese Mountain Dogs, rescued from puppy mills in the mid-west, we knew how important it was to keep them safe and healthy. Having insurance was a must, knowing that all of them began life with so many deficits. Trupanion was the company we chose to help us as we helped our dogs overcome the many physical problems, such as several types of cancers, elbow dysplasia, and chronic pneumonia, that have plagued them. Besides choosing to adopt, signing up for pet insurance through Trupanion has been one of the best decisions we have made.

Outstanding Customer Service.
There was some confusion regarding a couple of claims. I spoke with a rep who was extremely friendly, kind, thoughtful, and professional. She handled everything graciously and put me at ease. One claim has already been resolved and I feel confident that the other will as well. It's a comfort to know that we have no worries with our Embrace Insurance and can completely focus on our sweet little Maddie's care. Thank you! You're the best....

Troublesome pug
I am the proud owner of an adorable, yet mischievous pug. Toby finds trouble and trouble finds Toby. Needless to say, we are regulars at our vets- from GI issues, asthma, arthritis, ear infections, allergies, eating something that I never saw him grab, or that darned bumble bee. ASPCA Pet Health has always been there for me through all his ailments (and his well visits). They even call me a few days later to check up on him. They have always paid out on his claims within a week which has been great. I have also called them with questions regarding his healthcare and they have been greater finding answers. I love them!

Trupanion is awesome!!
I have six dogs, and each is covered by Trupanion. My most recent claim was for a torn ACL on my 11 year old. Altogether it was totaled over $3,000.00. Trupanion processed my claim and paid it in an extremely fast manner - wish other businesses and/or insurance companies were as great! I would recommend Trupanion to all pet owners - it takes a lot of the worry away when your fur baby is sick or hurt.

Good service and very helpful
Wally, went to vet with a injury. I submitted insurance claim. ASPCA emailed me in a couple days indicating they were processing my claim. The even called checking on Wally. Had my claim check in under 2 weeks. Very good and helpful.

Embrace has an excuse that they're using
I have been with Embrace for four years now, and I am finding for one excuse or another they will not honor my claims for either of my dogs.
1. When I got the insurance for both dogs, I got the sense from reviews that Embrace was one of the best. It is standard procedure for any insurance company to look at the vet's records at the time the policy is first started to see if there are any preexisting conditions, as well as to have a month waiting period before you can file claims. My min pin Duke was initially declared to Embrace to only have an orthopedic condition. During my month wait, I had to take Duke once for a skin infection and again later in the month for an ear infection. I paid for both. During that waiting period, Embrace called my vet for the records for that month, saw my two visits and reasons, and then claimed both of those infections for Duke as preexisting conditions (I didn't even know until today that they would not cover ear infections). The company said if I made no skin infection claims for a year that skin infections would be taken off the policy as a preexisting condition. I paid the vet bill for a year the times he had skin infections to eliminate the restriction. What I didn't know was that Embrace calls into vet centers regularly to get updates on even the unclaimed services the vet provides. So to this day, I am not covered with Duke for two conditions he needs sometimes.
2. My other dog Joshua, a boxer, just passed away in July from cancer. His bill was very high at the vet, so I called Embrace shortly after he passed to make sure I could still get coverage so I could "roll" the money I get back from Embrace to help pay his entire bill. I just found out in call I placed a half-hour ago that Embrace only covers claims for two months after a dog or cat dies. Why wasn't I told this in July? Consequently, I am stuck with a still high medical bill for Joshua.
All because of the need to be cost-effective, after thousands of dollars spent for four years on the two dogs, my Embrace policies are little good to me now. I have cancelled Duke's policy. Perhaps all of this is in the fine writing in the insurance policy, but many Embrace clients suffer like me from poor communication from the company. When shopping for pet insurance, please keep my problems in mind.
