Years of excellent, personal, caring service

I purchased my pet insurance when my Shih-Tzu, Cappy was 7 and had just spent 5 days at an emergency vets ($$$). Having the insurance has been the best investment in her health that I have ever made. When processing claims I have been given personal attention, the claims processing is so easy, these folks understand pet owners. And recently at 14+ years old my dear old Cappy suffered a heart attack, which within days brought us to the end of her life. ASPCA was there for me, personally calling to share their condolensces and help me process my last claim. Such kind, professional, compassionate and prompt service is above and beyond my expectations. Thanks You, especially to Robert and Shelly. I will own a pet again soon and will insure my pet with ASPCA Pet Insurance... always. Thank you so much.

Best insurance plan I ever had!

Our 3 year old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog got hit by a car. She needed to be hospitalized. She spent 3 days in the hospital with an IV, multiple X-rays, oxygen therapy and pain management. The bill was $2500.00. We got reimbursed $2400. Yes, you do have to pay upfront for an emergency, but scheduled procedures can be pre certified, so you don't have to pay upfront. If you love you child (pet), you should seriously consider obtaining this insurance.

Great, customizable coverage and exc cust service

Very intuitive application process, and I liked how easy it was to customize the coverage based on the needs of my dog--I didn't feel like I was paying for coverage for conditions that I didn't really need. I have only made use of my insurance once so far, but the claims process was really easy, and the customer service was great for dealing with any questions that did arise.

Simplicity in a sea of chaos

In a matter of 6 days I had to take my two cats to the emergency clinic a total of 5 times (1 overnight hospitalization each) and each of them to our regular vet. They were both having severe vomiting and there were a lot of diagnostics that needed to be done to get to the bottom of the issue. Also, one of my cats stopped eating for 3 days and she needed to be hospitalized to get electrolytes, fluids and nutrition. With little to no sleep for 6 days, I was thrilled to learn how easy it was to submit a claim with HealthyPaws. I installed the mobile app and was able to take pictures of the invoices within minutes of finishing up my appointments. I had to call my vet to submit their medical records. This all started on a Sunday and the first reimbursement checks arrived the Friday of that same week. I am so happy to know that we don't have to worry about the cost of emergencies and can just take care of our fur babies knowing that HealthyPaws will take care of us.

I'm Glad I Picked Embrace

My six-year old husky mix developed two fat lumps recently - I contacted Embrace about having them removed - Embrace declined saying that my dog had a pre-existing condition, a small pink raised bump in her armpit that had been looked at by my vet several years ago. The bump went away on its own and never come back. I contacted Embrace about the claim denial and they said for me to have me vet send a letter sating her opinion on what the lump was. I did that but felt little hope that the outcome would be good. Most health insurance companies animal and human are in the business of making money and one way of doing this is by turning down claims using a plethora of loopholes. I have to say I was quite surprised and happy that Embrace read my vet's report and reversed their decision. I might also add that I researched the top pet insurance companies obsessively before deciding on Embrace - Glad I did - Thank You Embrace

After much frustration it was well worth

Embrace initially denied my claim because my dog was stung by a bee before having coverage resulting in hives. She was allergic to the bee which most dogs are and I had called my vet on how to proceed with how much benadryl to give. When the the hives didn't clear up as fast as I wanted my vet told me to come in for a steroid shot even though another dose of benadryl probably would have done the trick (I was a new pet mum and a worrier so he wanted to ease my mind). This was documented in her vet records so Embrace had it in their notes. My girl got sick two months back with a very rare autoimmune disease that initially presented as hives, SHE WAS NO WHERE NEAR A BEE AT THE TIME MIND YOU. But none the less her claim was rejected by Embrace because this was considered a "pre existing" condition because apparently she is NEVER allowed to EVER have an allergic reaction to anything ever again even though this was not even remotely related to a be sting. So her condition worsened and what started as a simple case of hives turned into a resistant staph infection and then ultimately a rare autoimmune disease called Erythema Multiforme which could be fatal. I was up to 3,000 in vet bills at this point. Embrace had started to cover the SOME of the staph infection and the EM but waited weeks upon weeks to even look at my appeal. I got an email saying that the appeal would take 10-15 business days, but then found out they did NOTHING until day 16 when they FINALLY sent a request to my vet asking what the allergic reaction was!!!! They already had ALL of my vets records!! From the day she started seeing him!!! They rejected the claim because of the allergic reaction!!! I was furious, I called costumer services and they had NO ANSWERS for me what-so-EVER. FINALLY after 23 BUSINESS days and two 1/2 months after me submitting the original claim the denial was reversed and I did get coverage and then all new claims were able to be processed and I was able to get coverage for the staph infection ones they weren't covering and the "hives DX" ones that hadn't gone into appeal. So even though it was frustrating and I hated dealing with them, I am very glad I had coverage because they covered 80% of my bills and I would be lost without that money right now! It was way more of a hassle than it needed to be and at times I wanted to scream and more then once I did, but I am truly grateful to have the insurance.

Love this company!

My beloved labrador retriever is the third "child" in our family. At 6, she was in pain every day from bilateral rear ligament tears. We were able to afford the surgery because of this insurance company. We were reimbursed as promised with no arguments or questioning. I would recommend Embrace to anyone who owns a pet.

ER For Tobin

I recently had to take my dog Tobin to the ER. I had a bag of dog food in the kitchen, and while I was gone, he decided to open the bag and eat... and eat... Distended belly and oh so painful - off we went to the ER. It was comforting knowing I had the insurance, and although money wouldn't have been an object, it was great not having that as an issue at all. Quick turn around from claim (although I used most of it as a deduction) but still very quick.
