It was complicated
Our 3 year old cat development allergies over a year ago. We had taken her to several vets and then a specialist and finally to a dermatologist. The last vet seems to have stabilized her condition with diet and meds. We are hopeful that may be the long term fix, but it is uncertain. The claim was complicated and involved numerous vet practices and invoices. ASPCA processed the claim fairly and expediently. So far, so good!

great service
Nationwide Pet Insurance has been good to our dog Bindy especially in this last year when she has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart. I also appreciate that there is no need to file by regular mail, we can now file claims electronically. Also, anytime I have called Nationwide has been ready to answer my questions. I really recommend coverage, especially for senior dogs.

Worst Insurance Ever..Customer has to do all the work and hope it will be covered!
Recently I submitted two invoices .The first was on 12/4/17 and after approx 3 weeks I had to submit the vet records [after spending approx 20 min on the phone with Nationwide] and then I had to run around sending vet records. I called the next day .spent another 25 min on the phone to be sure that they were received. I was told they were and it could take an additional 30 days to process but to call or look on line in a few weeks.
Now on Jan 2nd my puppy had another vet visit. Once again I had to call in a few days, another 20-25 minutes on the phone, and run around faxing the vet records Again I called a day later to make sure the newly faxed records were received and asked about the 12/4 invoice which I was told was still being processed! I spent several times. the 2nd and 3rd week of January checking the status of my two invoices on line with no avail . Now it was the almost the end of January.way past 30 days for the 1st invoice, I called and another 25-30 minutes this time. Finally during this last call and getting only lip service like "It is being processed and it should be available soon" I asked to speak to a supervisor, of course I had to wait for some time again and she told me ...get ready... that due to the holidays like MLK and New Years is why it has taken so long to be processed! She went on to state of course the 1st invoice, where the vet records had to faxed in, was also on 12/23 a few days before the Christmas holiday. Really?! it still had been over 30 days I responded. I then asked the supervisor if this was there standard for customer service? I was told yes! I was also told that my first invoices [for puppy shots etc..] were processed in just a few weeks. "Of course" i stated since there was no reimbursement because i hadn't met my delectable. The customer has to send in the invoice, call several times,.fax vet records and bend over and hope that it will be covered to try to obtain 90% reimbursement! All the while my 2 monthly insurance payments were taken from my checking account, regardless if there were holidays during those months! I wonder what I would have to go through if my dog wasn't a puppy and had real issues! I now tell everyone about the lousy customer experience and red tape by having this insurance that one has to endure!. In addition I believe it has been a complete RIP OFF . It costs me 63 dollars a month for 12 months[for a 3mth old pup] =$756.00 plus a $250.00 deductible now it is really costing 1,000 dollars [WHAT WAS I THINKING] before you even start!..my two invoices reimbursed me for a mere total of approx $320.00 which i waited almost 60 days from 12/4 when the 1st invoice was actually submitted! Its now my mission to tell everyone I know, especially at the vet's office, not to purchase this terrible product!!! I am quite sure i will not have spent 1,000 dollars on my puppy's health over the first year.

Horrible Insurance Company
DO NOT FALL FOR PURCHASING THIS INSURANCE! I l had used their wellness policy for a couple of years and then upgraded my policy last year to the Whole Pet with Wellness so that I could rest assured that my fur baby was completely covered. I was sold on this policy my the mere fact that it included dental where other companies did not. Unfortunately I discovered that the dental coverage offering is just a big lie. Basically if you take you pup in for their first routine dental cleaning they are not going to cover it because if there is any tarter it is considered a pre-existing condition!!! I just spent $900 at the vet only to find out the hard way that none of it was covered!!!!! My vet, who also had this insurance, was appalled because she said ALL dogs have tarter!!!! Needless to say, I believe neither of us will be using this fraudulent insurance company any more!!! Don’t be fooled!

Embrace has been there for us!
I have been a believer in pet insurance for years, and work with as a volunteer with a rescue organization for boxers. I was sad to hear of my own boxer Lucy's diagnosis, but with my comprehensive accident-illness policy, Lucy was able to get the treatment needed, in a timely fashion, with the best vets available. She is currently doing well. As I tell prospective owners, you never know when your pet will be injured or ill, and you WILL want to do everything in your power, and having a good policy is peace of mind.

Growing pains, but a good company
I thought I'd give a short review of Figo after filing my first claim, since most of the reviewers have only reviewed based on speaking with the agents. I am overall very satisfied with the reasonable price for the benefits, the online portal, ease of filing a claim, and knowledge of the agents.
But holy cow, it took almost two months for my claim to go through. I filed a very small claim for two of my dogs on December 11, and only yesterday, February 7, was it approved. They did send an auto-generated email saying that claims were delayed. The good news is that it was approved the first time with no back and forth, no documents needed, or anything like that. The only thing that wasn't approved was a $17 medication that was over the counter (given to me by my vet), but no worries.
Overall, mostly satisfied with the benefits for the cost. For a new company that's rapidly growing, some hiccups are expected. I wish they were staffed 24 hours though, like many other companies - it does take a couple days to get an email reply, and long hold times on the phone. However, I have six dogs, and this was the lowest cost for the best coverage that I could find.
The most important part to me is that they cover what they say they're going to cover, and they did - even if it took a while. They've supposedly hired more people and brought claims in house beginning this month, which will allow them to be processed faster. Overall, I would recommend this company for the price and coverage - just be aware that there are growing pains.

Customer Service Fabulous - Prompt and Helpful
My dog is about to go into ACL surgery. When I contacted Trupanion to seek guidance on how to handle my claim, they (Olivia in my case) was extremely helpful and eager to help and eager to make sure I was able to access the benefits of my policy. It was such a relief to know Trupanion would be as easy to work with as it said it would be when I purchased the policy. I've had to submit claims twice and each time Trupanion made the insurance end pretty seamless and easy.

Wonderful service!!! Absolutely recommend
I rescued my dog about 6 months ago and the poor thing has been through the wringer since we got her. Fortunately we got Healthy Paws insurance as soon as we had adopted her and I couldn't be happier with their customer service, their level of coverage, and their reimbursement speed. Every representative I've spoken with has been kind and genuinely interested in my pet's health, and they've been able to quickly and efficiently provide the support we need. I would absolutely recommend to any pet owner!

Horrible payout, insurance too expensive, takes to long to receive payment, if any.
Have two Westies. File very few claims on them. This insurance that they have had all their lives has consistently gone up in price and the payouts are very small. Will find another insurance when I get another dog. Am done with VPI/Nationwide.
