I have had a wonderful experience using Healthy Paws Insurance. My 6 month old ragdoll kitten, Teddy needed emergency veterinary care which included a 3 day weekend in the hospital with an internal medicine specialist. The vets were not sure what was wrong with Teddy and said many possibilities such as "he may need a blood transfusion, he may be neurological etc etc..." - for once in my life I was not worried or stressed about the money because I had Healthy Paws. It felt so different to deal with a pet illness and not have to worry about the financial side and only instead focus on making sure that your pet receives whatever treatment is necessary. So far, Teddy has had $4,600 in veterinary expenses in a short 6 week period. Healthy Paws has delivered exactly the coverage that they stated in the policy and has covered 80% of eligible expenses. This made a huge difference in my finances. Now we have three pets on Healthy Paws, my mother has her cat on Healthy Paws and my mother-in-law has her two pets insured as well. I am recommending them to everyone that has pets - this has given me so much peace of mind and it has enabled me to afford the type of excellent veterinary care that I want my pet to receive. I hope that they do not drop us after having such a large claim for such a young kitten but I don't think they will as we have two other pets insured. I would also like to note that we had another pet that died of heart disease. He was insured by Healthy Paws but we did not file any claims because his heart condition was revealed before we got coverage for him. Healthy Paws mailed us a sympathy card with HANDWRITTEN condolences from multiple staff members at Healthy Paws - I thought that was extremely thoughtful and it really made a difference in how we view the company.

Patrick was very helpful and information - so happy to learn I didn't have another deductible on upcoming knee surgery - it's great that u employ animal lovers as they understand the stress of an injured pet and really do facilitate a prompt financial resolution.

I called with questions regarding a recent Cancer diagnosis for one of my dogs. I expected a little backlash because of the cost of the claim. But to my surprise Carmen was not only helpful, she was also empathetic and non-judgmental. I appreciated that kindness during a time of extreme stress and sorrow. Thank you!

I would like the policy much better if it reimbursed for exams. Here's the conundrum: an exam is absolutely necessary because how else would the illness or injury be known how to be treated without the exam. I'm not talking about yearly wellness exams, but exams when there is a problem. That kind of exam is how the Vet figures out how to treat the problem and it is crucial and is not elective. Please consider changing your policy to include critical exams. There are other insurances that pay for ALL exams, including annuals. I feel you are saving money at the expense of me and my pet. I also feel it is immoral to profit off of illness. I would like a response.

Jodi was helpful and she did what she was able to accomplish. On your website/porthole, if one has multiple policies, there is nowhere to type in another policy number to switch back and forth. VERY FRUSTRATING
