Timely and consistent

I have had this insurance for my Great Dane for over 5 years. Fortunately I have not had to file many claims over that period of time. However, for those larger vet/specialty bills, ASPCA insurance has processed and paid the claims quickly and consistently. I feel comfortable with the the level of protection they provide in helping offset the cost of my dog's medical visits.

Buyer Beware

As I saw on other reviews, Embrace tries to find anything so that they can exclude a future claim. My dog's records say her weight is ideal at 18 pounds for a schnauzer/poodle mix. She is awesome and looks awesome! But due to a mistake when Banfield read her past record as 21 pounds, they are excluding her for "overweight." She was never 21 pounds, proven when we weighed her immediately upon taking her from the shelter, which she looked so very skinny then. A vet weighed her too said ideal weight, and just one month later on her record she weighed in at 18 pounds, and on the second record the Banfield vet wrote overweight once because he thought the weight from the shelter was correct, when it was proven to be incorrect. Of course Embrace will exclude her from any future issues related to the overweight dog theory. I say theory because anyone knows by looking at her weight and the exam that Embrace required that she is normal (ideal) weight at 18 pounds. They also excluded her for protein in her urine and all related conditions, when the most sensitive test showed she had perfectly functioning kidneys, and was free and clear of this on her last test--the vet saying it may be related to being outside in the heat and having her test in the afternoon, needing more water which the vet did not give her in the last office. It's right in the record. Then they say this sweet dog suffers from aggression even though no behaviorist officially diagnosed her as such. The dog, like any dog given away by her parents, was frightened yes when I first got her. But she walks up to people when she is out in the park, greets them, sits, turns for them to pet her. I talked to the behaviorist about things she protests like grinding of the paws, and she said aggression is far too often over diagnosed. She was not aggressive. Then embrace asked me to get a letter from the doctor to prove what they interpreted is wrong. I have had to work harder than ever previously getting her perfect exam done that they required, including orthopedic exam, and refused to do any more work for them. Besides I saw a review that they don't go by the letters anyway. This insurance waiting period says a certain time, but it is a year, and although the vet says the kidneys and urine are perfectly healthy, embrace makes their own assessment, saying in the future if she ever gets this, they will not pay. Buyer Beware!

Fantastic insurance, glad I had it for my dog!

My Bernese Mtn. Dog found an old corn cob in the woods, ate it and got sick. Half of it came up in the morning, the other half went the other direction. Vets didn't find it until day 2, by then she was severely dehydrated and organs began shutting down. More complications after surgery due to infection required several extra days in isolation. I could not have afforded this entire process without Embrace insurance. Thank God it was covered and saved my dog's life.

Good Service

I have had ASPCA pet insurance for several years but have not had to file a claim until this past December. My dog, Woogie, was diagnosed with a heart murmur and the vet started her on new medication. She also has allergies and has medication for that as well. Since December I have filed 3 or 4 claims mostly for the medication she takes. I have had a good experience and representatives have called me twice in the last couple of months to ask if I had questions about claims or if I needed anything at the time. The claim process is a bit slower than I would like (takes about 4 weeks of late) but that's not terrible and I have never had a problem getting information or understanding my claim reimbursement. Overall, they do a great job!

Did not deliver what they advertised

I received this company's name and information as part of adopting from the Humane Society. I immediately went home and activated the service that same day. 4 days later, I took the two girls to my regular Vet and had them examined. It turned out that they had fleas, a cold, and ear mites; all of which they received medications for. When I called PetPartners to see how to file my first claim I was told the following:1) I can't file because the policy didn't "actually" become active until 5 days after I activated it (It was only 4 days AND this 5 day waiting period was not mentioned when I activated the coverage.) 2) They don't cover fleas or mites, even though they DO consider them parasites and admit they can endanger the animal's life 3) They "might" cover the cold and I was certainly free to file the claim though the gentleman doubted they would reimburse me for that, UNLESS I was willing to move up to the next level of service. So, all in all, NOT the kind of service I had expected coming from an endorsement from the Humane Society. I cancelled the service that day(almost a week ago) and I'm STILL waiting for my refund.

ASPCA Pet Health Ins. is a God send!

My mixed breed Golden Retriever Sugarbear has had numerous medical problem in the past few years. I understand that she is now 14 years old and is in her retirement age. The qualified people at ASPCA have been there for me all the way. Helping with my claims & also phone calls to follow up on her recovery. And even asked how I was doing. Just can't say enough good things about them Highly Recommended!!!!

Great Insurance for pets

Our pup of 6 months developed a loss of balance and kept falling down. We took her to our vet who told us it was some kind of brain issue and had us go to a specialist who did MRI, spinal tap and blood work. They were unable to find the cause and put her on antibiotics for a month. She is currently doing well. The cost exceeded $3000. Embrace approved our claims, and we should be receiving a check shortly less the deductible. We are pleased with the service we have received and would highly recommend them to other pet owners.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

After recommendations from vets, we went with Embrace. Upon signing up, we were told we had to wait three weeks before it would to into effect. Our first claim was denied because there was a SIX MONTH WAITING PERIOD. Once the claim was denied, there was a great note letting me know the issue would now be considered a pre-existing condition. You are better off putting the premium payments in a savings account.
