I've had this insurance for a year and my experience is that TruPanion will look for any reason to not pay you. If there is lick staining near the problem area, Trupanion will say the underlying issue was per-existing. Don't consider this insurance unless you have a lawyer to make them pay! It took me months to get reimbursed last year for an absess. Even after the veterinarians tell the insurance company that it is not associated, they still don't pay. I finally got paid last November after involving several veterinarians. I did have a layer retained but didn't call him in yet. Good luck!

Just a few words about Embrace. My beagle Willow had to have surgery on her spine to have a disc removed and was in the animal hospital for 5 days. The bill was over seven thousand dollars. The surgery on Willow was phenomenal. The same day she was released from the hospital I received a email from Embrace stating that they have received my claim and two days later the claim was accepted. I never thought about insurance for a animal until my gf told me to just look into it and with the price i couldn't help but go ahead and do it. I took my puppy to the vet and the insurance covered everything and was reimbursed with in two weeks was nice to know i didnt have to wait a long time and they genially care about all the pets they cover!!!

My Boxer has been insured since he was a puppy and that was 7 years ago. Nationwide has been great and has covered a vast majority of his claims with quick reimbursement. I'm impressed!
