TRUPANION IS AMAZING!!!

I am incredibly grateful for the amazing services and support provided by Trupanion. I signed up when my sweet pup was only a few months old. He developed both environmental and food allergies at a young age and his care was covered without question. Sadly, we recently had to say goodbye to our little man after an unexpected and short-lived battle with an aggressive form of cancer. Trupanion gave us the gift of allowing us to focus on getting him the best care possible which included his hospital stay, diagnostics, medication, surgery and a multitude of other items. The outcome was certainly not what we hoped but the kindness extended by Trupanion exceeded our expectations. Not only did they promptly take care of a very large payment to the hospital, but they sent a lovely condolence email. We didn’t have to worry about any of this while in the midst of our overwhelming grief. Trupanion also mailed a handwritten sympathy card with much needed words of encouragement and support. It’s clear they have a love of animals and realize that they are family to so many of us. I get that they are a business, and as with any good business will want to provide great customer service. Arguably that’s what we pay for as customers. BUT they have always gone above and beyond. You can just tell when a company and their employees actually care. I have and will continue to recommend Trupanion to anyone bringing a beloved pet into their home. They truly made me feel like my pup and I mattered which is priceless in my opinion. Thank you Trupanion. I will be back if or when my heart can handle the addition of another pup to our home.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
