Great service.

My Westie was walking on three legs for two days. I took her to my vet and they determined that she needed X-rays and some other procedures. As she is a fairly hyper breed, the vet had to do this under anesthetic. The bill was quite high. Trupanion paid!

Over 15 years with no troubles

Been with Trupanion for almost 16 years. Never had any issues with claims. Thank you for being instrumental in allowing us to spend more time with our pet.

Thank you Trupanion!

Easy to deal with. People are very pleasant and knowledgeable. Claims are responded to very quickly and payments are maid usually within a week of being notified that your claim has been accepted. We are very happy that the coverage offered by Trupanion.

My dog Rufus

My dog Rufus is now 6 years old. Rufus was a rescue dog at 6 weeks old when I brought him home from his original owners . From his first visit to our vet (a few days after getting him ) my vet told me to consider pet insurance for this little guy. Of course I asked her why? . She said she felt Rufus may need a pet therapist. I laughed at the time yet I did consider this advise as he was a real scamp.So I tried Trupanion for a year and have been with them since. Rufus has had ear infections and allergies to many to name as well as sugery through the years. The cost of his medications and on going conditions has been at a horrendous amount of money. I would not have my Rufus today if not for Trupanion . Best investment Ive ever made.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
