Good but sometimes frustrating

Trupanion definitely helped in the cost of care for my dog while he was very sick, however, there constant "additional information required" emails were very annoying when not only did they have all the information, but at times when I talked to reps, they had little idea of what his actual diagnosis was when it had been months into the whole treatment process.

Peace of mind is priceless!

My 4 year old Nina required surgery after being mauled by a 60 lb dog. When I called for preapproval I was greeted with a very compassionate support person and within an hour received a call back with great news that Nina's surgery was approved and everything would be covered at 90% less the exam fee and deductible of $250. Unfortunately my Nina did not survive the surgery. Nina was our second family pet. We did not have Trupanion when we owned our first pet. After having experienced such a tragedy with our beloved Nina, we will never own another pet without having Trupanion on our side. The peace of mind that we had by having Trupanion is absolutely priceless. The rates are very reasonable and the staff is amazing. I have no complaints about how our claim was handled.

A company that follows through on claims

I have had many pets in my life and I was a skeptic when it came to pet insurance. I have had Trupanion insurance for my dog for one year and I am so impressed. They have great customer service and they have paid over $2000 in vet bills over this year. I will never get another pet without insurance through Trupanion.

SO VERY GRATEFUL FOR FAST SERVICE

DOLCE WAS A SICK KITTY,VOMITING OFTEN DUE TO FOOD ALLERGY THAT WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT. LARGE BILLS FOR TESTING TAKEN CARE OF BY TRUPANION. SO VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE INSURANCE. WOULD, AND HAVE RECOMMENDED TRUPANION TO FRIENDS WITH PETS.

Friendly and fast service

Response quick and accurate. Nice friendly emails mentioning how I cared for my dog. Kind of silly as obviously scripted but sweet nonetheless. A nice reminder that my insurance would be there even in a very serious or expensive situation!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
