Trupanion is the BEST - Hands Down!!
We rescued two Golden puppies from a backyard breeder - both of them have had health issues since the outset. We purchased the insurance when the pups were 3 mos old - they're 5 now. Trupanion and the staff there have ALWAYS been extremely helpful and very good about working with us to get our boys the care they need. The claim process is simple and efficient, claims are settled very quickly. They're fair and are not looking for a way to deny a claim!! I honestly love them. I've sent numerous people to them for their pet insurance...even my vet recommends them now!!

Trupanion there when I needed it, easy & no stress
My two year old Lab Mix Bernese Moutain Dog had an extremely urgent surgery to remove a tumor on his spine. Not only did we have to fly from Alaska to get an MRI, we also had a spinal tap, lots of blood work, and surgery. During this stressful time Trupanion worked with my vet to get the bills settled as they were stacking up to around $10,000. They preapproved claims and called me with status updates. All I did was submit the papers. True to their word my bills have been taken care of per my policy. As a young adult still in college I couldn't have afforded this without Trupanion. After the surgery we discovered my dog has cancer and Trupaion is still there to assist me during this difficult time. Thank goodness I chose Trupanion. You can't beat their customer service and dedication.

What Life Saving Angels
Coconut is a 3 yr old chihuahua who has just recently had patella luxation surgery and repair of her ACL. She has had one previous claim for obstruction. My furry baby is my life so having Trupanion by my side has allowed me to care for her and not worry about the astronomical bills that pet care can add. My vet is even connected to them so they submit everything and when i pick her up i just pay my deductible or my percentage.

If only Human Health Insurance was as amazing as Trupanion
Frankie our 4.5 year French Bulldog developed IIVDD. She had been to the hospital three separate times over the course of two weeks And had two operations on her neck to relieve the pain caused by disc material that had ruptured . She wouldn't be here today with out these operations. The stress that We felt was tremendous due to Frankie's pain. Not to have to worry about the financial burden that these operations and hospital stays would've cost was a immeasurable . Trupanion responded to all three of my claims filled at different times within 24 hours of submission. Trupanion covered 90% of all of our hospital expenses with out and ounce difficulty on our behalf. I will never use another insurance company ever. If Trupanion could only cover humans !!!!!! Thank you a million times for saving Frankie's life and taking care of virtually all the expenses associated with it ! We can now focus on recovery of our dog.
Monthly Cost
Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.
Coverage
Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.
Payout Limits
The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit.
That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.
Deductible
If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.
Age Limits
All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details.
However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
Like many other pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions. Whichever insurer you choose, it pays to enroll early!
