From the time I first took Sophie to Boca Vet through the time we transferred her to Coral Springs Animal hosp. Until her discharge on Friday the 12th July. there was complete harmony and care between all of the doctors and Trupanion ins co.

Better than Human Insurance!

We just spent close to 10g's on emergency surgery for our 12yr old dog. 8 months earlier a friend recommended Trupanion pet insurance. I'd heard plenty of stories about pet insurance, so I bought it for $52/month with VERY low expectations of reimbursement if something actually went wrong. But, much to my surprise, this company has been AMAZING. The checks have been coming in, and it looks as if after the $1000 deductible we're getting 90% back. Why can't human insurance work this way? Anyway, it's a great company and I'm a client for life.

Kujo is a little puppy we adopted several weeks ago from a rescue organization. He had a rough start at life being severely neglected with lack of even simple life's basic needs of water and food. We have Alaskan Malamutes for the past 25 years and always adopted from a reputable breeder so we knew entire generations of the animal's history. We had Kujo signed up for insurance as he was just such an unknown to us and right from the beginning we felt like he was going to be a handful causing lots of excitement ( prediction right-3 months old and almost died from abusive home and now with this incident!) Our vet suggested TRUPANION and after an initial clean bill of health 2.5 weeks ago, we were enrolled in a 30 day free trial and also signed him up. Kujo had this horrific injury ( penetrating injury to bowel with resultant peritonitis) and we told the vet that we will do anything to make this guy better as we had to give him a chance after fighting so hard to survive at initial abusive home. I had looked into the insurance and saw there was a waiting period on the policy and thought crap; just our luck! However, Kujo was our priority so we never thought no more on the cost and proceeded to try and get him better. So yesterday I happily picked up my little trooper and a FOUR page invoice. After 1 week in hospital with multiple X-rays, bloodwork, special tests, IV fluids and multiple medications entire time, major surgery, intensive 24 hr care, etc, etc. The rece

THE BEST in the business!

I switched our dog's insurance from VPI to Trupanion a little over a year ago. How I WISH I had done it sooner!!! Trupanion is truly a JOY to work with. They process claims immediately and there is absolutely NO question as to what they cover, check arriving quickly in the mail. And, our premium just went DOWN from its original price. You can't get better than that. If you are going to buy pet health insurance, which I HIGHLY recommend, Trupanion is THE ONLY one that's worth it in the marketplace.

Wonderful pet insurance company

Wow! What a great company and what a change from the insurance we had before. We have 3 Afghan Hounds currently and have had 9 of them over the years, so we are used to the expense of owning dogs. But over the last 2 years we have had a lot of very expensive medical bills for our 2 older dogs including the removal of a 7 pound tumor; pneumonia and Pancreatitis. it was during this time that we found that our insurance coverage with VPI, which we had for years, wasn't worth a darn. They covered very little of the expense and were not very nice to deal with at all. We got an Afghan puppy last May and signed him up with VPI as we had done for all of our other dogs. But when our oldest dog got pneumonia and VPI covered very little of it ( no coverage for Oxygen...are you kidding me! ) we decided to look for a better company for the puppy. We decided on Trupanion and mistakenly waited until the one year contract with VPI was up before signing up with them. We have since then learned that we could have signed with Trupanion right away and they would have covered whatever VPI did not. So we started showing the puppy as soon as he turned 6 months and he has been doing great but after the show in Long Beach a few weeks ago he started choking and we took him to a Vet only to find that he has a very rare condition called Chylothorax which is very serious and in fact usually fatal if not treated immediately. Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
