Trupanion Changes Policy Often to Avoid Paying Out on Claims
Trupanion is like any other insurance company, they annually change their policy and continue to introduce loopholes so they don't have to pay out on claims. I have been a member for over 10 years, and still am only because two of my pets have been enrolled since they were kittens and now they are aging and have established conditions that I receive coverage for. However, I have noticed over the years the more rejections I receive to my claims (despite all of my pets enrolled at a young age with no founded pre-existing conditions). Specifically, resportive lesions is an ailment my one cat suffers and has been previously covered for several years until all the sudden they don't cover them and they don't grandfather ailments in. I have dropped my coverage on my dog and did not enroll my two new pets. I will never use their service again and I would absolutely recommend someone looking for affordable options to look into Banfield or vet plans verse insurance. The pet insurance game is just as underhanded as the medical insurance for people.

Is a first class service from the product to the customer care!
I cannot expect better from an insurance company, the premium, the communication, the user friendly website, that makes it easy to flow, the speed of the claim reimbursement!! Can't be better.

You were always there
We took out Trupanion Insurance when Morrison was a tiny puppy. Through the years, he has faced many unexpected and scary health issues, accidents, and surgeries. Now that he is elderly, he suffers from the pain of arthritis, .When you first fall in love with your pet, you never imagine that among all the wonderful, exciting, and fun moments, there will be times when bad things happen and things go wrong. He had a dew claw pulled out at the dog park when a lady invited him to jump up but when he got down the buckle of her overalls caught the dew claw, he once had his inner, third eyelid torn almost off and his cornea badly scratched when he played with a dog wearing a spike collar, had a malignant tumour removed from his lower eyelid, stepped on a rare type of wild grass that cut deep into his paw, had the ligament in his knee snap and the cartilage crack, resulting in having a steel plate put in his knee. He had to rushed once to emergency in the middle of night in a dehydrated state due to mysterious vomiting. You've always been there for him and for us. We would find it hard to have paid for all of this without you. You are our heroes and have cushioned these frightening moments by helping us pay what it took to keep him comfortable, alive, and free of pain. We can't thank you deeply enough for your compassion.

Trupanion is a life saver!
Trupanion saved me!
I am so happy to have pet health insurance for my kitty who turned out to have some environmental allergies that leave her scratching at herself non stop-until she draws blood!
If I didn’t have trupanion I probably would have had to put her down.
Now she has hope, due to Trupanion covering her allergy testing expenses.
Monthly Cost
Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.
Coverage
Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.
Payout Limits
The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit.
That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.
Deductible
If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.
Age Limits
All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details.
However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
