Outstanding

Outstanding! 100% recommend Spot. Based on a strong nudge, we purchased a policy for our 6 month old rescue, never thinking we would use it. Within a month he started limping. Turns out he had somehow developed a deformity of his leg and needed major surgery! Without question Spot step up and covered the visits and surgery. Having our puppy go through this awful experience and surgery was bad enough. At least we now don't have a 7K bill to worry about on top of that. There is no question in my mind Spot is outstanding! Highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a policy!

If you have an older dog you need this

Having an older age dog makes insurance always difficult to come by, especially if you have pre-existing conditions. Spot has made my life so much easier than dealing with other companies. You can upload your bills and health history and within a few days your claim is processed. Their explanation of benefits is always great to review and understand as to why something was or was not covered. Everyone must have pet insurance if you own a pet, spot just makes it easier to do so. Thank you Spot!

Cost for coverage options is reasonable. Submitting claims very easy on web site and efficient processing for claims with direct deposit is excellent.

SPOT is SPOT on!

My experience with Spot has been outstanding thus far. Ease of subimtting a claim and quick reimbursments. Site is well built easy to understand and has detailed information on what is cover/not covered. Additionaly, I've had great customer service when needing an explanation on something or info in general. SPOT is A+++ in my book. Thank you!

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). plan costs vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750 or $1000 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. Spot Pet Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee.
