Please read before you decide to go with Spots Pet insurance

I have had Spots pet insurance on all my dogs for several years and up until the last few weeks, I would have given 5 stars without hesitation, until what happened with my last pup. My 15 month old dog was misdiagnosed by several vets with what turned out to be a significant neck injury. At first Spots was amazing and paid for every vet appointment without any problem. Once I figured out that the only thing that helped my dog improve was a combination of pain meds and going to a pet chiropractor for adjustments. Before I started going to the pet chiropractor, I double checked with Spots pet insurance to make sure that they would cover the chiropractor and they said that they do cover it, so I started going to a pet chiropractor to start treatment. My dog improved more every time I took him. The only problem was that this pet chiropractor was over an hour away so I decided to take him to a pet chiropractor closer to my home. The only difference between this pet chiropractor and the other one is that my lastest pet chiropractor is more qualified than the previous one. And all of of a sudden Spots decided that this Pet chiropractor doesn't qualify and refused to pay the bill, even though they paid the other one without a problem. Make that make sense!!! I appealed the claim and they denied it because they said that the pet chiropractor has to either be an actual vet or has to be in a vet office. Last time I checked Pet chiropractors are actual doctors. I'm very disappointed with Spots pet insurance because they were amazing and now they seem to be changing the rules and acting like it was always this way. And now my dog has a preexisting condition so I can't go through another pet insurance because they won't cover it. I guess I just want people to be aware of these things happening so you can maybe think twice before going through this insurance company, although I think they are all pulling this BS so they don't have to pay some claims. Update on this review.. I noticed that all negative reviews will get a comment from Spots saying that they will send this back to customer service to be reviewed or some other kind of wording to give the impression that they will be reconsidering their decision to pay the claim but I feel that this is done just to give the impression that they will be paying a claim. Unfortunately I feel like its all just to make the company appear like they care, when in reality they only care about making money so every legitimate claim they deny puts more money in their own pockets. When I first signed up for Spots insurance 3 years ago, they had a rating of 4.8 but now it's a 4.1 so that shows that customer service doesn't matter to them and that making money is their only priority. And honestly I hope they get sued for all the legitimate claims they have denied. This company has gone down the toilet and hopefully they figure it out before they lose most of their customers, myself included.
