Dispute Resolution Process Is a Nightmare
The signup process is straightforward, the rates are competitive, and the general operation of the website, from direct deposit setup to claim submission, is user-friendly. However, this is where the positives end. They've denied coverage on an emergency visit for a six-month old puppy with food poisoning claiming "prior condition," although they had the dog's prior history that clearly showed no prior stomach problems except a kennel-acquired intestinal worm that was cured with medication by the time the dog was three months old. Claim dispute process requires obtaining a case number by phone – and that's when problems begin, because Spot CANNOT BE REACHED BY PHONE. I've called three times and spent, respectively, 30, 35, and 45 minutes on hold, giving up eventually. I'm not going to give my business to a company that cannot provide proper access to all aspects of its operation.
