Pumpkin is a pet care company on a mission to make the best pet care possible fur all. Pumpkin was started after its founders took a look at other pet insurance options on the market and found that some were missing one crucial component – preventative care. Pumpkin believes all parents should be able to give their pets medical care if they’re sick or hurt, and preventive care that keeps them healthy throughout their lives.

New Customer

The Pumpkin website was very user friendly and made getting insurance for my dog a breeze. Filing a claim was also easy to use. I’m happy my dog’s vet has their information on the website.

I immediately reconsidered

I immediately reconsidered. Ordered coverage one day and canceled the very next day. 7 days later no confirmation of cancellation. Plenty of e mails cajoling me not to cancel and guilting me for not providing coverage but no confirmation that my immediate request to cancel has been honored. I am shocked by this and expected professionalism.

Overall a good positive experience. They pay what and when they say they will. And customer service is the best - they respond in a day to any email you send! Best pet insurance that I have had yet.

I just purchased the insurance to my dog; there is not much to say yet. To purchase a insurance it's always easy. Pumpkin has good reviews that's why a chose this insurance. Hopefully nothing bad will never happen to my beautiful Maya. However if one day anything happen to Maya. I hope that Maya will be cover with pumpkin insurance.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
