Excellent customer service

Rebecca was simply wonderful answering all of my questions and was able to provide a lot of guidance in regards to coverage. Her questions and answers enabled me to choose the right coverage for my pet. I was able to determine what was worth spending money on amd what was not. Her insight and guidance were invaluable to choosing the right plan. The only thing Prudent Pet doesn't have that would be a great asset is an app to download to the phone to be able to look up coverage information or file a claim. It's the only downside I see at this time. Please let me know when you roll out the app as that will go a long way to promoting the ease of filing a claim. Or even to know what is a covered event.

Monthly Cost

Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.

Coverage

We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.

Payout Limits

We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan.  There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.

Deductible

Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.

Age Limits

We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies. Optional Wellness Details We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount. *Correct Jan. 2019
