Stay Away... FAR away

Bad experience all around. I signed up in February; we are now in March and I am still receiving the "we need more information" emails. The first issue came up when the expressed that they needed all previous medical history. My dog is adopted; so I only have the medical history since she has been with me. I sent them everything I had for her but they were having trouble getting info from one vet. They explicitly told me that that was the last piece of information they needed and then they would be able to begin the underwriting. After a number of back and forth with both the vet and customer service I was able to get that info from the vet to them. As soon as that was submitted I received yet another "we need more information" email. I emailed them saying "this is ridiculous, please cancel my plan and refund me everything I have paid up until this point." I believe this ask is fair due to the fact that her coverage was never active since the underwriting was never completed. I got yet another automated reply saying "your pets coverage was active from Feb until July and you are not owed anything. Additionally; you are not assigned a dedicated account manager so every time you call in or email you are talking to someone new; someone who knows nothing about your account. I only signed up with this account because my company started promoting "hub" and they were a vendor listed in hub. Not only am I leaving this review; but I am escalating this to hub as well. Stay away from this company, far, far away. RUN don't walk. I wish I would have read all the reviews before I had signed up.

The most horrible pet insurance out there over seven years paying are seniors and they never had any intention on paying

We are seniors have paid top dollar for our pet since we have got him to make sure we had pet insurance ..You have taken our money for over 7 years with never intending to ever except a claim for our dog .To us that is fraud and a scam you should have told us 7 years ago you would be doing this ..We would have saved our very limited money .Shame on you and your company .You should be sued for stealing money from seniors knowing you are never going to except a claim ..I will for sure be social media and telling whoever with listen and TV how you operate ..You scam us seniors for sure for alot of money ..

Deceitful practices

We were startled to see that our PetPlan policy for our dog Tessa had increased over 11 years from $113.69/month; $341.08/quarterly; or $1,364.32 this last year, to $336.75/month; $1010.25/qtr; $4041/annually this year effective July 1st, 2021. Her policy renewal has increased 196% since last year. We signed up with PetPlan in 2010 because they did not cancel policies based on age of dog and guaranteed that there would be no premium increases past 11 years of age. Tessa was a year old in 2010, and turns 12 in July. In an email exchange with Ken Roberts from PetPlan in 2010, when we were evaluating insurance companies to ensure Tessa, we asked Ken “How much do premiums increase annually?” Ken Roberts, 1-866-467-3875, x2415 responded: "Inflation and by age of animal. Increases are 6 - 8% every year between ages 3 and 11. typically $2 - $3 / month. no more increases after 11 years old.” PetPlan changed underwriters in 2017 unbeknownst to us until yesterday but did not notify customers of their change in contract nor did they offer any remedy to customers who signed up with PetPlan before 2017 and were promised reasonable policy prices after age 11. We are probably going to file a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner for Washington State, as well as the Better Business Bureau unless you have some suggestions for how to get PetPlan to comply with their agreements. I would rather not rate PetPlan until this is resolved. If they provide a remedy, then the rating will be high. If not, then we will certainly share our concerns on social media.

Still Charging me after processing the euthanasia claim and cancellation of my plan.

Terrible, when I wanted to cancel my plan, the agent used manipulation, “I would hate to see you cancel and then not have the money to help your pet.” When I called to confirm the total coverage for my dogs hospital stay and blood transfusions that resulted in my dish death, the agent told me, “to have a wonderful day.” When I explained that in times like these some sensitivity is required, my beloved dog was in hospital dying and I didn’t have the $10,000 to save his life.” She hung up on me. My dog was euthanized, they processed the claim on April 30th, cancelled my insurance as a result and still billed me in May. The manager keeps calling me to talk about my issues, leaves her name but no extension to reach her. I have called several times but not knowing her extension makes the calls futile. This is a poorly run company, take your business elsewhere.
