Firstly, we were very impressed with the structure of the coverage: age divided into 3 groups only, 4 clear plans, 3 deductible coverage choices - this was not complicated like other plans. We insured both our dogs. Second, our 1st claim was handled with compassion, professionalism and efficiency. While investigating our dog's torn cruciate replacement, 3 further major issues surfaced including a left nephrectomy, adrenalectomy and cystotomy, all needing to be done immediately. PetsPlusUs underwriters worked diligently and quickly to advise on exclusions and inclusions so we could move forward fast. Immediately upon receiving pathology results, they mailed reimbursement cheques and Melissa went through the details clearly and concisely by phone with us. For your info: we only paid 35% of all fees. We were not out of pocket for long and came away with a most satisfactory experience. The cruciate ligament surgery is next and they've already committed to full coverage. We recommend this company highly for their empathy, efficiency, competence and reaction time. Great service all around. My kitten is back to her hyper self and my claim was paid in under a week. So happy I got insurance for my new little buddy. Owl was only home for a few days after I adopted her when she became very sick. She had a gift insurance from the shelter she was adopted from and I'm so thankful she did. Two nights nights in the emergency hospital was very expensive. I have since bought an extended policy and am now a believer in the benefit of insurance. I never want to worry about being able to care for her again. Thanks for being there for us!

I have a 5-year-old male Shih Tzu, cute as a button. It was time for his blood test, heart guard, and vaccinations. I was a student so it was always hard to save the money for his needs. Now, I have good job but I wanted to increase my cash flow. I researched many companies and Pet insurance was the best for cost. Why pay for it in a lump sum when I can do it monthly @ 0% interest? I bought my little guy to the vet, got all his stuff done and the vet actually submitted the claim via fax I believe. It took about 10 business days for the money to be in my bank account. during that time, I emailed the support group because I have a few questions. They go back to me in about 24 hours and was very helpful. I would highly recommend pet insurance for everyone!

Unfortunately our poor little Archie, at only 5 1/2 months old, had to be put down due to acute Diabetes with organ complications. It is so sad when a family pet passes on but even worse, when it is a puppy that should have had his whole life ahead of him. We were devastated!!!I would like to extend our thanks to Pets Plus Us for their over-the-phone compassion and for their valued assistance which was provided to us during this horrible time. I highly recommend Pets Plus Us as it provided our family with peace of mind during the discovery process of Archie’s illness which in turn allowed us to provide all the necessary care that he so desperately needed during his short lived life. Our decision to insure our beloved pet with Pets Plus Us was the best decision we could have taken as responsible pet owners. After numerous vet visits, the bills started to add up and not once did we ever consider not pursuing his illness because of the expense associated with it! My claims were processed in under 14 days and the last and most expensive claim was processed in under a week. Moreover, a donation was made in Archie's memory. I commend their friendly staff and never felt alone, which is of paramount importance during a crisis such as this! I will absolutely insure our next puppy/dog with Pets Plus Us solely based on my experience with this company.

We have been fortunate to never have to put in a major claim as of yet so I cannot comment on that process, although while reading reviews it would seem people are highly satisfied with the process, albeit slower than they would like. I am here to comment on the process of signing up for the insurance and then keeping up to date with any changes and having them answer any questions that I may have. I have to say the process has been very easy, informative and absolutely not "pushy" for any up sells, or anything else for that matter. They simply answer your questions and state the facts and help you with your needs and requests. Simple. They also send a great package when you sign up that is very informative. All the "extras" you get are very clearly outlined and marketed to you (rather than hidden in small font somewhere for you to forget). We get email updates as required and everything is written out in plain English, very clearly and also with a fun and positive undertone, not to mention a bit of humour with, for example, the owner signing off his emails as "Top Dog". Based on non-claim related communication and customer service alone, I would not hesitate to recommend Pets Plus Us. I should mention that I did a full and extensive review or all Canadian pet insurances (took me a good month) with many comparison tables and lots of research. After reviewing, I selected Pets Plus Us based in the best value for price and also based on customer reviews for servicing claims.
