Pets Plus Us | Pet Insurance Review

When my partner and I adopted a little kitten that we would later name Charles, he was a rescue, but was given a clean bill of health with no apparent pre-existing medical conditions. Three weeks ago, he broke his arms and we opted to have him undergo surgery, the best but, admittedly, the most expensive option. It was only an option because we had insured Charles with Pets Plus Us. Unfortunately, two weeks into his recovery, he broke a third limb. This incident we did witness, and we were able to see that this break was due to a fall from a very low height. For that reason, our vet actually advised that he was quite possibly suffering from a rare bone disorder. A full diagnosis would have been near impossible (they have to go down to the DNA level for that), but we regardless decided that we should probably let Charlie go, to avoid the risk of having him go through any more suffering. It’s ultimately a really sad story, but Pets Plus Us did make this whole thing a lot more bearable, and at the very least, it gave us two more weeks with our cat. It was an awfully big payout for a policy we only held for maybe three months. I'm obviously now a huge advocate for pet insurance. We'll be signing up with Pets Plus Us again when we get our next cat.

Sheila is an adorable one year old bulldog we inherited from our son. He found her too reactive. She has had consultations with behavioural vets, is on special meds and a special diet. All of this has been covered by PetsPlusUs with no questions other than asking us how she is doing and are we enjoying her! Happy to report she is improving and I’m always impressed that PetsPlusUs staff take the time to ask how she is when I call in re a claim! They do care!

After all the trauma of going through an accident with my pup Marley, having Pets Plus Us there to facilitate the claim process made things so much easier. I have a 5 year old cat who suddenly started having kidney issues that required lots of expensive tests and treatment. I have never thought of buying pet insurance but when I took my cat in for a routine check up 6 weeks prior to some kidney issues Pets Plus Us was offering a 6 week free trial of insurance so I signed up thinking "What's going to happen in 6 weeks?". Well! On the last day I was covered I happened to take my cat in for her kidney issues and I feel so lucky to have had signed up for the trial. They covered 80% no problem and so I went home and registered for a regular monthly plan. In my case, I am truly thankful for their coverage. And when I called to ask a few questions the staff were beyond helpful and pleasant.

I an so glad we decided to use Petsplus as I thought I bought a healthy puppy and when we got her home she has been sick many times and the insurance company has always come through for us. Everyone should get on board with this company, always pays immediately on claims. EXCELLENT
