Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

We got Pets Best full coverage (minus preventative) insurance when our cat was a kitten and it has saved us thousands and thousands of dollars. We’ve been able to say yes to tests that the veterinarian recommended that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford. We can focus on giving our cat the appropriate care without worrying about cost. Our premiums have only gone up $10 over 3 years despite all our claims. We’ve submitted around 20 claims and been approved for every single one.

Once we had several copies of vet visits uploaded, our reimbursement was paid in less that 5 business days. Thanks to all who helped along the way.

To the Executive Leadership of Pets Best, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my claim for my pet, Hurley. It has been over a month since I filed the claim, and the lack of action from your claims department is unacceptable. Despite multiple communications with your managers, there has been no progress, leaving me in a dire financial situation that is now threatening to ruin my credit. I demand immediate action to expedite the processing of my claim. The continued delay is intolerable and reflects poorly on your company’s commitment to customer service and reliability. This situation has caused significant financial strain, and your inaction is completely inexcusable. I expect a resolution to this matter within 48 hours. If it is not addressed promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this issue further through legal avenues and public platforms. Consider this your final notice. Very long claim times, confusing emails stating no info needed then denying/closing claims because I didn’t provide information. I called 4 times on my claim 1st office was closed for training other 3 times wait time was so long I eventually hung up. It honestly feels like they intentionally make it difficult so that the average person will just give up! I plan to look for a different company.

I insured 4 cats and 1 dog about 18 months ago. I went with Pets Best bc they had the best coverage for the price. My first claims process was not great in claiming the wellness plan benefits, and I considered switching, but because the coverage options, I decided to stick it out. My second and third were satisfactory and met promised timelines. My recent claim is the reason I will never switch. My cat had a very sudden and devastating onset of lymphoma. I insured him around the age of 6, and he didn’t have pet records. He needed such expensive diagnostics and immediate treatment for a chance to save him. I racked up 5K of bills in a week, and was only able to do so bc I had insurance. Still, in the back of my mind as a single mom, with every swipe of my card, I was worried about not being reimbursed. There were separate claims from several clinics due to his needs all over about a week. I’m not sure if it was the nature of the claim or just all-around great service, but the claim was closed out well ahead of guidelines and funds released. There were NO surprises, and I got exactly what I had anticipated. There was no fuss. I submitted my claim in two minutes. This gave me to the peace of mind I needed to continue to seek expensive treatment without worry and focus on my cat and my children working through this devastating news. Without such ease of care and this service, I would not have been able to try expensive treatment that had a 50/50 shot of working. I cannot recommend them enough. Every business is bound to have mistakes here and there. Even with the first claim, all the expensive and diagnostic illness type claims were covered as anticipated. This process gives me permanent peace of mind for my pets and my family.
