Pets Best is great

Pets Best is great! They are very quick to answer questions when you use the chat or call. My only complaint is the extended time to process claims. My claims are taking between 30-40 days to be completed.

BEWARE of premium increases!

My dog was initially insured when he was 11. I have had coverage for 4 years. Until 2 years ago, my $500 deductible was just barely met. Last year, I had significant expenses (but less than $2000) so my deductible was met. I just received notice that my premium next year will increase 60% (!!!). They state that it has nothing to do with my claim history. I find it hard to believe, and it's hard not to resent the company. Unfortunately, I'm now stuck if I want to keep insuring my pet.

They are serious people

They are serious people. Take their time with claims, but do their job and honor their commitments. Just got a check for almost 1,000$ after hitting my deductible. Can’t recommend them enough

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
