Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

So glad we decided to pick up insurance for our two JRTs. Pet's Best has been in our family for two months and I already had to make a claim. They took a little longer than their expected time frame but did notify/apologize in an email. Great customer service.

I filed my claim for a surgery on 8/21/2015 for a surgery from 8/17/15. It is now 9/9/2015 and the claim has not been paid yet. I keep getting excuses. I filed two more continuing follow up claims for the same surgery and they have been paid. These were filed on 8/31 & 9/8. The claim I need the money on was for $1700. The other 2 were for a total of $325. Not happy. I use to refer people here. I was very happy with the service and payment punctuality. I am no longer happy. My rates went way up and payment is taking a very long time for the large ones that matter. Maybe after I get the reimbursement for the first bill I will change my mind.

My dogs have been covered for many years by this insurance. They haven't had claims until this year. Two of my dogs have had many claims this year, unfortunately. PetsBest was paying them and that helped a lot, but they have suddenly decided to reject a claim for treatment that they have been covering. They delayed the claim a couple times and then said it won't be paid because the chiropractor isn't working under the license of a vet which is not true. The chiropractor works at the vet's office, under his license and the two of them took the vet chiropractic training together. They did cover the first few treatments and then suddenly changed their mind. I'll be filing an appeal, but I am annoyed because it seems like they are just trying to delay and waste my time in hopes that I will just forget about it. After paying for this insurance for 6 years, I won't be forgetting about it.

Pets Best has always been there for me during the lifespan of my 2 previous cats' chronic illnesses, and now the same with our 2 dogs. I like that they continue to cover ongoing treatments. Also, the new claims submission process is much easier. Good all around.

When I made decisions for treatment, it was always for the best interest of my animal family members. Decisions came from my mind and heart -- and not from my wallet. For me, this was the most valued benefit from Pets Best Insurance. Plus, claim processing is quick and convenient; customer service is compassionate and knowledgeable. There were a couple of claim denials that I appealed and won. Sometimes you just have to provide extra information for your case, especially when it comes to pre-exisitng conditions for older animals. When my pets passed, Pets Best reimbursed me for the costs of humane euthanasia, which softened even the most difficult of choices. Thank you Pets Best!
