Pets best saved my beloved cat

My poor cat ate a hair tie. Could not eat anything and had to be saved by surgery. Bill came to over 2 k. I could not effort if it was not for the fact that 80% was covered by Pets Best. Now I have her back and she is alive and well.

an inaccurate description of the excellent coverag

Left VPI because although they were up front about their coverage, the vet I go to is very expensive and their fees were not enough. The salesman for Pets best SOLD me on the insurance with his explaination of the way the benefits work. I told him why I was switching and he made Pets Best sound UNBELIEVABLE. I came to find out that he was right, they were unbelievable. Mia, my 1 1/2 yr old shi tzu had a gastric stomach...(just like a human would have) when I had VPI. I explained to the salesman that VPI did not pay enough and as I said before, my vet is very expensive so I was seeking insurance that would meet my needs if ever I had another problem. As I said, he sold me, he even said that that was not pre-existing. Cancer yes, but a gassy stomach no. That would be like saying if MIA had a cold under VPI and got another under Pets Best, it would be considered pre-existing. Anyway, PB said when Mia had her gassy stomach again that it was pre existing. I told them, and my vet told them in writing the anology about the cold and they still would not pay. I told them what the salesman said and that the only reason I switched was so that I wouldn't have to worry about the extreme costs anymore. Before having this problem, I got another puppy, a male Shi tzu. I got the insurance for him thinking that I was saving myself alot of money in the long run. Another $7 hundred and something a year. I had ia in again about 2 months ago and for a bill of almost $300.00, I re

Pet's Best is best

I have a one year old Goldendoodle who was insured by VPI. He went in to the vet at 8 months old with diarehia and he had scratched his eye playing with other pups. the Vet bill came out to about $500. Of this, VPI paid NOTHING. They claimed it was a pre-exisiting condition. Pre-exisiting condition at 8 months old? This pup also came from a VERY GOOD breeder. I dropped VPI on the spot and signed up with Pet's Best. A few months later my pup scratched a section of his neck raw. The vet couldn't figure out why, but the 2 visits to cure him came out to about $400. Of that VPI paid about $230 ( they would have paid more if it weren't for the deductables). They were fast, friendly and I actually think they care about their patients ( our pets). They definately made a loyal costumer out of me. Keep up the great work Pet's Best and help us keep our pets healthy and happy 8)

Experience

I have had Pets Best for a few years and initially my claim was processed slow, but accurately. This last claim process was extremely slow, inaccurate and the conversation with the customer service person was frustrating. He didn't have all of the documents and basically accused me of not filing the claim correctly which is why the delays. I faxed AND emailed all documents for the claim initially and then again 3 weeks later when they still were unable to find the paperwork. After realizing that everything was indeed there I didn't get an appology or the claim processed any faster. Also signed up for the direct deposit but that too failed and now the payment is being process by snail mail. How convenient.

Great pet insurance for those unexpected accidents

When I first adopted my dog as a puppy, I looked into pet insurance. I used this site and a couple of others when I started my search. After reading the reviews and talking to some other pet owners I decided to go with Pets Best, which I have had for 2 years now. After a couple of unforseen puppy accidents, including a surgery for a fractured foot bone, Pets Best has more than paid for itself. They have always processed claims very fast. I do not have the Wellness Plan, which covers routine care, so I don't have any experience with that part of the plan. The only reason I did not give the company a 10 was that my dog has gone in for a couple of gastrointestinal issues in the past, and the stool smear and visit is never covered. I understand not covering her annual exam and routine stool smear because I don't have the wellness plan, but I am taking her in for a gastrointestinal complaint (diarrhea, vomiting, etc.) and the stool smear is part of the diagnosis for the illness. However, it has never been covered. On the up side, I have never had any problems processing claims for other things, and the customer service is alway helpful.
