Trying to speak to someone in customer service took almost two Weeks. The hold times are crazy.

Pros and Cons

PRO's: The service provided by the representatives are great. Their communication skills are good and they are very nice. CONS: The policies provided suck. It's not clearly detailed and the coverage is subpar. I feel like I'm paying for a policy that doesn't meet my pet's needs.

preexisting conditions are ridiculous

I insured my 8 week old puppy, but somehow STILL they are claiming everything is pre existing because one time it was mentioned to a vet that she was itching a little bit. Very hard to reach anyone by phone. Lesson learned - even if you insure a puppy before their first vet visit, and wait for the waiting period to close before getting treatment, conditions can still be "pre existing" according to Pets Best.

PetsBest really is the best

I have been so happy with PetsBest for several years now. Filing a claim is so easy, and the EOBs are clearly explained and easy to understand. They’ve helped so much with our dogs. I recommend them to all my friends!

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
