Denying Claims is what they do BEST!
Almost every claim takes about 30-60 days to get paid especially if you have to appeal their decision and have your vet write a personal note. In my situation, they like to always claim a "pre-existing" condition.
For example, my dog got a staph infection that was eating away at his skin 11 months after we got the policy. They denied it within a week and said "pre-existing" condition. If that were the case, then my dog would have died by know. No medical records requested at all! Processor likes to deny claims within 7 days or request medical records and deny claims in 14-21 days.
Their customer service agents and their call center manager agreed that it should not have been denied and at the very least, medical records should have been requested. Still waiting on decision as we approach 30 days on something that should have been paid weeks ago.
On the plus, their online system to submit claims is easy and allows you to even write a comment, so I gave a 3 instead of a 1. Even though I think the claim processors don't read them. Otherwise, they would have requested medical records on the bacteria that was eating away at my dog's skin.
