Great first pet insurance experience
I bought pets best insurance on a whim, and I’m so glad I did! It’s one of those things that you’ll never know when you’ll need it. My cat unfortunately had an ER visit and was hospitalized and the coverage is amazing. I got 80% back! claims take more than a week or two but the explanation of benefits makes sense. Highly recommend. Will be sticking with them again and again! Make sure to get insurance that’s makes sense for you

Ruptured Disc
My two year old beagle required surgery for a ruptured disc. Because of Pets Best I was able to get her the best care available. She has made a full recovery, much faster than anyone expected. Her bill was a little over $8000. After paying a $250 deductible and 20% copay, I was reimbursed $6500. The only item not reimbursed was for vitamins. Her premium for the year was less than $500 so it's been very cost effective to have her insured with Pets Best.

Great timeliness
I submitted a claim and it was handled within a day - great to see since a few months ago there was a bit of a delay. I understand, and it is great to see you are back to the timely response I am used to. I love Pets Best Pet Insurance, and I would recommend it to anyone. Absolutely have exceeded my expectations since I started my policy.

They consistently take 4-6 weeks to…
They consistently take 4-6 weeks to review the file despite stating on their website, and elsewhere it takes 5-7 business days. It feels either that they are understaffed or that they are intentionally stretching things out to discourage people from filing claims. I did not have this issue with my previous provider Lemonade.

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).

The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date.
