Never reimbursed. Canceled and started a savings account
Submitted a claim. My receipt from the vet showed the procedure information and was marked paid in full, $384, at time of service and stated $0 balance. Uploading etc went fine, the website wasn’t bad. But the insurance ended up useless. I feel like they weren’t even trying to read the document submitted and just rushing through denials.
I submitted the receipt and paperwork following all instructions on 11/14/23. I only tried to get reimbursed $70 of the $384 because of the deductible and some things weren’t likely going to be covered. Later I got a message that they denied reimbursing the $70 because the receipt wasn’t showing I paid it in full even though it clearly did. My vet was baffled why they weren’t accepting it. By the time I got the notice, could get back to the vet and get the receipt re-done on my time off from work, before I could resubmit it, they closed the claim on 12/06 and told me to restart the process if I wanted to try again. Now I’ve paid nearly $500 in premiums plus nearly $400 in vet bills, and never received any reimbursement, wasted my time, and wasted my vets time. Instead, someone recommended that I start a little savings account for future needs. Sent that premium to my own savings account each month and not deal with wasted time, paperwork, and unreasonable denials.
