We've had many different pet insurance companies, but Pet's Best tops them all. Great customer and efficient claims processing are their strengths!

Its only been a month, but so far it appears they will do everything they can to deny claims
After getting my new puppy I spent a few days looking at several pet insurance companies. Ultimately I decided on Pets Best due to a combination of reasonable rates, wellness add-ons, and reviews. It's still a little early to tell, but it looks like I may have made a bad choice. Easily corrected by moving to a new insurer when my policy renews at the 1-year mark.
16 days into my new policy, I took my new puppy in for his first check-up and to get shots. At the time, I also had the doctor look at his eyes which had been a little red. The doctor determined it was conjunctivitis and put him on an ointment. I submitted a claim and it was denied because sickness coverage doesn't begin until 14 days after you start your policy. I took my pup in a week and a half later because the redness didn't clear, and was again denied because the symptoms "started" before the coverage period.
First of all, I'm not sure how they determined when the symptoms started. All I submitted were the receipts and they assumed it started before the 14-day mark. Secondly, this is not the kind of behavior I want out of my insurance company. If they keep denying claims over assumptions and other stipulations, I won't be renewing with them.

Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date.
