Can navigate website quickly

At first, the claim process was a chore, like most new things. But after a few times, I can navigate in under five minutes (faster each time). I appreciate the messages of receipt of submission, in-process, and completion. That reduces my stress about "did it get there, where is the payment, and who has it?" Thank you for doing your part in my pets' lives.

Premium keeps increasing with zero claims so far on my almost 7 yrs old Bichon BOLOGNESE

Charlie's ( is a healthy pure bred Bichon BOLOGNESE ) premium keeps going up even though we never had to file any claims so far. When we first insured him, the premium was less than $19/mth. Now it has almost tripled. It is so unfair that healthy pets owners are punished for other sick and accident prone dogs. Healthy pets owners should be given a discount like good grades students that are given discounted premiums for their driving insurance.

Any Excuse not to cover.

What an unbelievably misleading name for this insurance. When we adopted our dog, it was recommended we get insurance on her. Therefore in the event on an emergency, we had the peace of mind that cost would not be an object in providing the best quality of life for our pet. We chose this insurance, over countless other pet insurance. The mission statement even states they want to "strive to give pet owners peace of mind by taking the financial worry out of owning a pet, so you can make the best decisions for your dog or cat." So much for taking out our financial worry. It wouldn't bother us so much that they denied our claim and appeal, if it wasn't for the fact that I called the company roughly a week before my dogs surgery and asked what would be covered. I understand that talking to them isn't a guarantee, but their job to give us the best answer and most accurate answer. I assured it would be covered. Why was there absolutely no mention of this 6 month ligament tear window? Had we'd known we would have made the decision to post pone surgery or explore other options until we were financially ready. The lack of understanding their own insurance limitations is inexcusable. At least give they can give customers the decency to know the true extension of their coverage. The basis of the denial is purely based weak evidence. Our dog hurt her leg in January of 2018 and after taking her to the vet who stated it was a ligament tear versus injury to the surrounding tissue. There was no imaging done. No evidence that it was a true tear and she got better within a few weeks. Then, almost a year later, after a traumatic fall, she actually did tear it fully. There's no evidence that this was a continuation from the previous injury. It's a technicality that they gladly latched on to. What's the point of even having pet insurance? To cover my $50 wellness visits? Or to cover a $4,000 surgery? DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE COMPANY. They will find any excuse not to pay when you need it most.

3* for rising premiums fir a healthy and zero claims pet.

Thank God, I haven't had to use my pet insurance yet for my healthy amost 7 years old Bolognese who come from a good healthy lineage and a pure breed. Charlie is laid back very sheltered and an indoor pet, but he likes his walks. I do agree with all the reviews that the customer service staff are very courteous and nice a couple of times I did call. HOWEVER, the reason I'm giving PBI 3* because the premiums keeps going up every year eventhough we never had to make any claims yet. Charlie's premium keeps going up because of his age and more claims from other sick and accidents prone dogs was the answer given to me when I called in to ask why the premium keeps going up. In my opinion, that isn't fair at all to healthy dogs with zero claims so far. I think like good grades students are given a discount on their car insurance premiums, healthy dogs should also be given a discount too for zero claims. I hope PBI is going to consider that, and not punished all healthy pet owners. Thank you.
