Best pet insurance in the market. Excellent customer service, fast reimbursement and reasonable price. The decision maker for me was the wellness program they offer. It truly helps me keep my pet healthy and yearly check up is covered.

In two years as a customer I have only…

In two years as a customer I have only ever submitted one claim and it was easy to submit and paid promptly. My only problem, and it is a big one, is that the rates jump SIGNIFICANTLY every year. I understand that prices go up due to aging pets, but last year it increased almost 25% and this year it has gone up another 16%. This kind of increase will make it cost prohibitive in the near future...just when I REALLY need it with the aging animals. In my first year alone I paid more in premiums than the amount of the claim that was paid out last month.

Rapid, accurate processing, prompt payout of benefits

Pets Best’s turnaround on claims is excellent, typically within 10 days or so, sometimes even less. Payout on claims is equally prompt. Pets Best’s processing of claims is accurate. In all the years I’ve used them, I’ve only needed to dispute one claim and that time they told me precisely what additional information they needed and they corrected the problem immediately once I provided the supplemental documentation. I am extremely happy with Pets Best and recommend them most highly.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
