Best decision ever!

I’m so thankful I made the decision to insure my pet through Pets Best. My 8 month old Shih Tzu puppy got an abrasion on his eye in early February. This abrasion quickly led to a corneal ulcer, which developed into a melting ulcer and led to a complete enoculation of the eye. Over the course of 5 days I had almost $2000 in vet visits, medicine and surgery costs. I quickly and easily uploaded a picture of each of my receipts on Pets Best website and within just a few short weeks I received reimbursement at 90% less my copay & deductible. I was able to make a tough decision easier knowing that Pets Best was there to help with the costs. Thank you for offering this service and I will be sure to tell all my pet owner friends about you! Pets Best is wonderful

Pets Best is wonderful! Right now, there is a little delay in processing claims but that is my only complaint. Pets Best is very responsive, the payment on claims is quick and it is SO easy to submit a claim. I use two other pet insurance companies and submitting claims is so much more complicated and barely anything is covered so I have to appeal and bring in my veterinarian to justify the cause. Pets Best always explains, in easy to understand language, what was covered and what wasn't...and why. Also, I used the petline number when I had a sick kitty. It was great! The vet tech was knowledgable and a vet even called to follow up. Having this insurance has eased a lot of emotional stress because I know that I can afford to take care of my diabetic cat who also has a heart arrhythmia. I don't know what I would have done without it...I don't even want to think about it. Thank you PETS BEST PET HEALTH INSURANCE!!!!

Worst pet insurance ever

It took over a month for them to review my claim. I called after 2 weeks submited and they said they were experiencing a high volume on claims. Weeks after I received an email apologizing for the delay. When my claim was finally processed they stated that a lot of thing were not covered because I reached the maximum. It was the first time used and my puppy still have another appointment in 6 months for shots and other routine that are not going to be covered because I reached the maximum. What I have to do? Change the great vet that I have for one not that good that charge less for the services so everything is covered? They didn't explain the benefits like that during enrollment. I didn't received an explanation of maximum coverage until the policy started. I thought it was convenient with the payroll deduction for payment, but as soon as the new enrollment date is here, I am cancelling and going back to the one I had before. I paid only $5 more monthly and they pay the vet directly, I don't have to wait and it covers everything, never any amount out of my pocket. I don't recommend it at all.

It has been 30 days since my wellness…

It has been 30 days since my wellness claim was received. It remains unprocessed and they have no problem continuing to use false tactics to lure more people into buying this insurance. This was taken directly from their site: Pets Best has strived to offer the best pet insurance plans, the best service, and the fastest claim processing of any pet insurance company. Not sure what this company is up to but it is definitely not what they are advertising!

I have been with Pets Best now for over…

I have been with Pets Best now for over 10 years with multiple pets. Pets Best was great in the beginning, claims were processed quickly, pricing was reasonable and customer service was great. For about the last 2 years, claims take a long time, coverage is not the same and now we pay more. I am not sure if it is a new management running the business, but it is not as good as it used to be. The customer service reps are outstanding, helpful, professional and caring. Wish the management above the Customer Service would be the same.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
