Pet Best Raised My Rates $40 per MONTH

I have been recommending Pet Best to many people these past years , including my daughter whom is a veterinarian. Sadly I can NO longer do this unless pet best has a change of thought. Who raises rates $40 a month . Understandable if it was a $5 to $10 increase . There are pet insurances out there that guarantee they will NOT increase rates . I don’t have an issue with cola type increase, when you have senior citizen or people in general just starting their careers, most can’t afford this type of increase. Additionally, I have ALWAYS paid promptly , so has pet best when I have had a claim . My well cared Rosie, her claim recently took 28 days to process maybe $40 dollar payment . Rosie is 6, a golden doodle , whom visits the vet annually and gets her heart worm, flea guard, any and all shots recommended. She had genetic testing on both her parents. I can’t help but wonder how the executives sleep knowing they could do this to loyal clients . Rosie’s longevity will most likely be 12 years . My daughter tells me the critical time to have insurance is when the pets are puppies … ages 1-5 . Rosie is a trained service dog . I have peace knowing if an emergency situation were to happen she has insurance, as I do . My own health care (Human Care) has never raised my rates at $40 or more a month . If Pet Best can not guarantee they can process their claims within 14 to 21 days , they will loose business. I can only image the loss they will be feeling when folks drop their policy . I will In the future consider another buying another puppy, yet Pet Best will not be my choice if they do not retract their high annual increase. I am a senior citizen . 67.. i feed my dog prescribed dog food so she maintains healthy stomach flora , she takes supplements to help her age gingerly. I am praying your company has a change of heart and make their insurance affordable.

Best Pet finds any reason to deny legitimate claims!

My Frenchie had nare surgery done due to poor breathing. They denied claim for “pre existing” because she was born that way. Of course she was!!! Same thing with hooded vulva surgery which was necessary due to repeated surgery. Because she was born that way it was considered pre existing!! I don’t even try to file claims anymore. I only keep the insurance in case she gets hurt. I Do Not recommend at all!

Submitted a claim

Submitted a claim. Claim was processed and received in a record amount of time - for Pets Best. Less than two weeks later. Very satisfied with the processing time. Need to discuss realistic ideas of costs of veterinary care however. $50.00 does not cover cost of annual exam for major metropolitan area.

Stay away from this company.

1). Extremely long hold times when calling customer service. 2). Changing definitions so they don’t have to pay. Submitted a claim for an xray on a congenital defect my puppy was born with. They say the “illness” isn’t covered because the xray was taken within the 14 day “illness” waiting period. The xray is not a result of illness. I had it done because my puppy went in for a booster shot and thought I’d save money having the xray done at home vs. Boston MA at specialty hospital. 3). At specialty hospital in Boston 2 months later, they are not paying claim for “illness” because now it is a preexisting condition. Seriously? This company is unreal. Stay away!!
