Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

After telling everyone that I was getting an English bulldog there was one thing that I kept hearing...buy insurance! It isn't a 'if it will happen' it is a 'when it will happen'. After 2 years, I can say that it was the best investment I made (aside from Magnus himself) :-) He did get mange when he was a couple of months old that they didn't cover, but otherwise, it has been absolutely fantastic! And had I read all of the information prior to buying it I would have seen that the demodex falls under a category they don't pay for. I love knowing that I will never have to choose between what is in his best interest and whether or not I can afford it. When we bring home our french bulldog puppy in the next couple of months I can tell you the one thing he will have immediately...VPI!!

Never thought that when I applied for pet insurance from VPI 8 years ago, that it would be the best decision I would be making for my Golden Retriever, Riley. It's been about a year since Riley was first diagnosed with Fibrosarcoma, she had major surgery (removing part of her hip and left rear leg). She is now receiving Chemotherapy treatments which will hopefully allow her to remain a happy, healthy dog and family member. I've always wanted the best for Riley, from buying the best quality dog food, toys and now she is being treated by the best pet oncologist in the State. It would not be possible for Riley to receive this type of health care if it wasn't for VPI. Being able to receive partial reimbursements for Riley's medical bills from VPI' claim process has allowed me to aggressively continue my quest to provide Riley with the best life. They are timely and efficient. We have put in 2 claims for our dogs in the past year and both were paid without a fuss. I wish human health insurance was this easy!

My Irish Wolfhound puppy ate part of a corncob and needed emergency surgury to remove it. Since he was under anesthisia I had his stomach stapled(prevent blout), and nuetered at that time. The bill was just over $3000. VPI payed me just over $2500 in less than two weeks. Not to mention what Ive saved on puppy shots, maintenance meds, etc... I will always have all my pets insured.
