VPI member for years

My 2 year old German Shepherd decided to eat a nerf bat and of course he needed emergency surgery to remove it. VPI paid the claim within a couple of weeks of me submitting the claim. I'm so happy I decided to get him insured! VPI covered exactly what was in my policy. Now years later, he has developed epilepsy. A 2 day stay in the hospital, neurologist bill, tests and meds was $1,400. I only wish the maximum benefit for epilepsy was higher than $300. His meds run that much for a month supply! Overall, I am very pleased with the service.

VPI (Nationwide) Pet Insurance has been wonderful!

Our 8-year old bichon poodle Carly has, unfortunately, had several serious medical issues. She is diabetic and needed emergency gall bladder surgery this past year. Our 3-year old Siamese cat Cooper has been very healthy, but he ate 5 feet of sting when he was 6 months old and also needed emergency surgery. VPI has saved us thousands of dollars, and has always paid our claims promptly. The customer service agents that I have talked with have been very compassionate and supportive. I have highly recommended the company to all of our pet owner friends.

Lousy

Vpi was happy to take my money but when it came to paying reimbursement that's another thing. Denied my claim because she had diarrhea year and a half before?! I could spend hours attempting to have them review my claim... Or i could save my $50 a month... I chose to save my money..

zero coverage

I was unable to receive any coverage for my 6 month old puppy's skin condition. I paid over $1000 for 6 months of treatment, on top of paying their monthly coverage. I cancelled right away after rude and unhelpful calls with their service department. Would not recommend, seems they find a way out of reimbursement for illnesses their policies say they cover.

They will do EVERYTHING they can to NOT pay you.

This was the worst insurence I have ever had. My dog was extremely sick with bloody stool and if I didn't qualify for care credit my dog would have been screwed. It took over 3 months to get everything some documents I sent then 2 or 3 times because they "didnt" get them. At the end of me fighting with them they somehow linked it back to a pre existing condition of puppy direah and didn't pay me.they will literally do everything they can to not pay you do not go with them they are absolutly aweful and they don't care about you or your animal. I had everything I could purchase from them and they did nothing for me.
