KEEP YOURSELF AWAY!!

Being partner of VPI pet insurance is one of the WORSE DECISION that anyone with a pet can ever make. first, their efforts to discourage you to claim a reimbursement are insuperable, they are so good that you finally put off any other attempt to to submit a claim. I should have canceled my account a year ago when I tried to used it the first time. second, the excuses, which range from we did not receive a document, event if you send the same document, multiple times. Third, in my last attempt to use your services and attempt to claim all my pet visits, even the ones where I felt discouraged to do so, after receiving a email stating that my claims were processed, I just found this that my claims are completed, with of course, no payment at all, which I don't know why surprises me!. and the worse and lowest of everything is that this time they didn't tried to discourage me or even send a notification of why they decided to not comply their part of the agreement, No email, mail, notification or anything. That's insulting and shows the purposes and values of this company.. They just allure you, but what they want is your money. They also updated and messed up my information, who knows with who authorization, but we all know with which purpose, and if they said that they tried to contact me by email, guess who succeeded to do so a couple of days before. I am just waiting to call on Monday to see what will be the excuse now, but was just not able to avoid to write this and make my experience public. I congratulate your marketing team, they are good, but if you catch this post before they delete it, please KEEP YOUR PET FAR AWAY OF THESE GUYS. you just don't know what to expect. There are better options of the market, be smart and don't let that a good advertisement a discount get you on this TRAP. If they are giving you a discount and invest so much in advertise their self is for something, right. GET AWAY OF THIS GUYS ASAP.

I am very very happy and grateful for VPI

The claim process is easy and fast! They covered almost all of Charlie's expenses when he hurt his leg and needed surgery. What a relief! Also even before the injury I felt that I was getting a good value for my monthly expense as they covered vaccinations, checkups and flea/tick prevention. A +++++

TPLO for my Dog

My English Labrador Retriever needed to have TPLO surgery since he partially tore his ACL. My normal vet referred me to a specialty veterinary hospital for the TPLO surgery. The Specialty hospital Dr provided me with his written prognosis and that my dog needed TPLO surgery. I submitted the Drs notes along with my invoices I paid and within 2 weeks VPI paid all but $134.00 of a $3000.00 procedure. I also took my dog to rehab at the specialty hospital once a week that cost $60 per visit and VPI reimbursed me for the rehab as well. I have had VPI since I got Brody when he was 7 weeks old and they have always been great with payments and explanations.

Great insurance!

I had VPI since 1999, for a total of 6 dogs. Right now VPI covers" the second and third" generation of my dogs, and I have been very happy allover. Sure there are years when you think, why do I pay this?- but then the worst happens and VPI helps to pay for the cost. It is the same as health insurance for humans, you never should think about" can I afford this". Our pets are friends and family, and so much more, they deserve to be covered by insurances for their health and wellbeing. If more people would do this, there would be less " discarded" animals. The costs are affordable and the investment is well worth it. I would never have a pet without insurance.

Constantly raising rates and changing "exclusions"

I have one dog who's 6 and just got 2 other dogs from a kill center who were both just over one year old. I got VPI pet insurance on all 3 dogs and initially was satisfied with the coverage. Then VPI started adding "exclusions" to the policies of my 2 newest arrivals. The eye infections were not covered and would not be in the future; they had chronic diarrhea for a couple months and VPI determined that should be a new exclusion; VPI paid a whopping $75.00 for an annual health exam, which costs over $200. I had regular coverage and major medical. They my insurance rates began going up and up; coverage that began at approximately $54.00 per month per dog was $74.00 per month per dog just 4 months after the initial policies started -- and VPI NEVER informed me of the rate changes (I had an auto pay plan and a $250 deductible for each dog). I ended up cancelling all the policies because the cost to benefit ratio was just not worth the hassle and whenever I called VPI to question a non-covered item (which was covered in the initial claims) the representative always said "this is not normal health insurance." What??? Very disappointed in VPI and told them so when I cancelled all 3 policies.
