Expensive

I've had VPI for 4 years. The premiums started at $298 and my next premium for year 5 would be $484 with $100 deductible. They have been good paying the claims when I've submitted them but the cost and deductible is no longer more favorable than paying the vet directly.

VPI is a company run by Mobsters!

This is the worst company. They do not like to pay or cover your pet when it gets sick. My pet has been insured since 2014, with major medical and a wellness rider. My cat was diagnosed with HCM 01/02/16 2 years after the insurance was purchased. He has never been diagnosed or treated for anything remotely related to a heart condition. He went to the vet for a uti and then was sent to the emergency hospital because it was the weekend and my vet could not take him in. After going to the hospital they found the condition after many tests. The hospital stay and to see a cardiologist came to over $3000. VPI would not pay $.01. They said he had a pre-existing condition. I appealed the denial because he did not have the condition in the 2 years I have been taking him to the vet his heart was never mentioned nor was he diagnosed/treated for a heart problem. After an appeal, the came to the same conclusion. The only thing they have paid for in the 2 years is a vaccination and fecal testing which are covered under the wellness rider. They extort pet lovers making you believe that if something happens to your pet you are covered. Everything is pre-existing as far as they are concerned and I would not recommend VPI to anyone. They are the worst. I waited my money over the past 2 years paying the monthly premium. I canceled my policy with them because they are good for nothing. I can pay for vaccinations and fecal testing without them, what they were really needed for the refused to help. DO NOT PURCHASE VPI!!!!!!! I WOULD RATE A ZERO IF I COULD

VERY UNHAPPY

I have been paying for pet insurance with VPI for 8yrs and very seldom have I submitted a claim. Now I am planning on having my dog spayed and VPI claims this is not in our Policy, that we needed a higher policy!!! I have paid $41.00 a month for 8yrs and now they refuse to pay a $500.00 bill for something that seems like a common procedure!! READ YOUR POLICY CLOSE and take nothing for granted!!!

It's been good for me

I've had insurance for 17 years, I've had VPI for the last 2,. It has been good to me, I submit my claims, and about 15 days later I get a check in the mail. There are a few things that it doesn't reimburse you for, like tax and a certain items, but I love it. Read your contracts,

Horrible Insurance

I have had VPI for several years, would cancel except my dogs are seniors at this point and would be difficult to insure. I have done nothing but waste my money on premiums with VPI, the standard they use to reimburse claims is pathetic. Of course, if I had read the policy before enacting it, I would have never done so. The limits and exclusions, as well as the total benefit they will pay - regardless of your claim. Do your homework, and don't waste your money on this insurance.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
