Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

When I started out the rates were a little high but I felt it was worth it to know that my dogs' health would be taken care of and their customer service was FANTASTIC. Recently I feel like my rates are really going up and not all of my claims are being reimbursed in full, it also takes upwards of 30 days to process my claim. Customer service is now just so-so. In my opinion they have slipped since being bought by Nationwide. I would recommend for younger dogs with NO preexisting conditions but not for older dogs.

Dug is doing great after his recent neuter procedure. He was marking the house like crazy likely in competition of our other male dog. But at 9mo he's now fixed and getting better about claiming the whole house (or well, mainly claiming all his human daddy's things). It was only made possible financially by his full coverage from nation wide! About 90% of his bill was reimbursed and fairly quickly as well.

Nationwide is definitely on our puppy Bently’s side! We are new pet parents and learned the hard way that we should have gotten Nationwide as soon as we picked up our puppy. That mistake unfortunately cost us $10,000 in emergency bills. Thankfully, when Bently broke his leg in April we were covered by Nationwide Pet’s Whole Pet with Wellness plan which covered 90% of the surgery costs. Everyone we’ve spoken with at Nationwide Pet has been a terrific help. And our claim status was easy to follow online. We are very pleased with our Nationwide Pet experience and have been recommending this coverage to everyone we know that has a pet! Thank you so much for the terrific experience! I have had VPI for nine years for my doggie. During those 9 years I have summited many claims and they pay some but some of the time they don't. At one point I stopped sending claims and just kept it active in case of an accident or illness. Now my pup is nine and in need of medical care and I summited a large claim of about $500, they didn't even pay a hundred of it, I am seriously considering canceling, due to his condition I can't go to another company, so now I am stuck paying for most of the medical bills.
