Amazing Insurance!

My English bulldog had to have bilateral luxating patella surgery which costs approx. $5,000. Nationwide covered 90% of the costs!! It was our first claim therefore it took longer than usual for us to receive the claim back, which was totally understandable! I will always use nationwide pet insurance for all pets going forward!!!!

Nationwide is a great Pet Insurance!

I was a little discouraged in the beginning because it took so long to get reimbursed. We adopted our furbaby and the people that adopted him for 2 weeks and returned him to the shelter didn't return the medical papers. Our baby was found wandering the streets for about 2 months and no one knows where he came from. I also found out that there was a backlog, which is understandable. All-in-all, I really like Nationwide. They are very cautious about security and people trying to commit fraud and so they are very thorough.

Slow inaccurate claims process- made up diagnosis to deny claim later

Nationwide denied a valid claim due to their diagnosis of gastroenteritis of my 12 week old puppy for vomiting!!! We took our dog in to the vet while waiting for Nationawide to approve us. New puppy ate something didn’t sit well with him and he threw up. Scared new parents took him to the vet! Well vet diagnosed him with vomiting. It was treated really as don’t let him eat that! It went away. Well the vet submitted the claim and it was denied as I expected because he was not covered yet no big deal. Later on 2 mo later dog is throwing up and we took him again this time they did X-rays and ultrasound found gas in system no blockages and felt It was due to the bully stocked he was getting. $1000 bill there! They denied it as a pre exciting condition of gastroenteritis! After 60 days of reviews! Told vets and they stayed nowhere was he ever diagnosed with gastroenteritis and now I have to go the long process of appealing this claim! Now where in his medical records which nationwide has was he ever diagnosed with this and when I call I am told that he was!
