Excellent and Quick Service

Without Nationwide Pet Insurance, we would not have been able to afford the operation that saved the life of our cat, Patty. She is a much beloved kitty and we are thankful we were able to have the surgery. The online application provided Nationwide is an excellent tool for submitting claims. The company was prompt and it took much of the anxiety out of the situation. Thank You.

Slow Moving

I am very thankful for having insurance for my dog and grateful that Nationwide held up their end of the policy by paying 90% of my dogs eye surgery. But what I am unhappy with was how long it took to get the approval!! And wasn't impressed with customer support. Thanks Nationwide!

The BEST pet insurance company.

Nationwide’s claim department is very quick on taking care of your claim payment. The process is simple and everything can be done on line. Would highly recommend this company.

Very happy with Nationwide

Nationwide covered exactly what they said they would, and very promptly. One HUGE benefit is the 24 helpline. I got a very nice person on the phone to guide me on what to do after my girl ate another dog's antibiotics. She was able to find the toxicity level (saved me a $69 call to Poison Control) and suggested I go to the Emergency Vet. That vet knew nothing about what to do and called in with my reference number and talked to the Nationwide Vet to find out how to handle this. What a wonderful benefit. Thank you!

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
