Great return of funds spent on the surgical problem

Our Poodle required multiple surgeries at once and the coverage by this insurance company replaced most of our costs.

The Absolute BEST Insurance at the BEST Prices with the BEST Staff!!!

About 3 1/2 years ago when I got my baby pug, I spent hours researching available insurance coverage. I settled on what was then called VPI and now known as Nationwide. I've always been extremely happy with the service and, in particular, the caring folks that have handled my claims. Top that off with efficient and extremely fast service in processing claims and, well, I am one happy customer. I don't usually write reviews, but Nationwide deserves praise for their outstanding service. My pug has already had his fair share of issues from allergies to pneumonia to a few things in between. Nationwide has truly been there for us. As they are for routine stuff like vaccines, heart worm meds, flea/tick meds and all the general stuff us pet parents provide. You really can count on Nationwide being there EVERY TIME!!

My trial has turned into a permanent subscription

I decided to get pet insurance through my workplace during open enrollment. I have 2 high maintenance Great Dane pups and decided i'd give pet insurance a try for the year. If I didn't like it, I just wouldn't renew it. My youngest Dane had an upcoming neuter and gastropexy (bloat prevention) in the new year. We originally thought the surgery had gone well, however, after a few days something went wrong with the gastropexy. Of course, it couldn't have come at a worse time. It snowed that day and the operating vet shutdown due to weather. We had to make 2 trips to the emergency vet to get him comfortable enough to make it through the night to see his normal vet. Of course, all of this was very expensive. Fortunately, my young pup is feeling better. I submitted my claim for all the costs and was pleased to see that Nationwide covered most of the cost (90% after deductible met). Submission was fairly easy. I emailed the claim and a few weeks later I was surprised to see the check in the mail. Many thanks to Nationwide! You have made a believer out of me and I will be a member as long as I have my Danes!

Fast Reimbursement

Nationwide makes it easy to submit claims via their app. They process claims quickly and have answers to the claims in a timely matter. I would highly recommend this company.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
Since 1982, Nationwide has helped pet owners protect what matters most. Policies range from nose-to-tail coverage to routine pet care plans that offer reimbursement for wellness exams and preventive treatments.
