So thankful for Nationwide and all they do for Stella! She probably wouldn't be here without them.

I had signed Stella up for Nationwide Pet Insurance years ago in large part to cover her future dental work we knew she'd need. Nationwide was the only insurance company at that time that covered dental cleanings and surgery. Little did I know how much more important that insurance plan would be than fixing a rotten tooth. Shortly before her 9th birthday, Stella became very sick over the course of two days and began to struggle with her breathing. We took her to the emergency room where they told us Stella was in congestive heart failure. Because we had Nationwide's coverage I didn't hesitate telling them to do everything they could to save our little girl. She spent the weekend in an oxygen chamber and heavily medicated. She miraculously pulled through and we were referred to see a cardiologist for further treatment. We took Stella to the nearest cardiologist who could see her, which is 1.5 hours away and in a different state, but it was the best decision for her care, and Nationwide didn't hesitate to cover her expenses. In a one month period, Stella's vet bills totaled well over $6,000. Nationwide covered 90% of it. Stella was given an estimated 6 months to a year to live by the emergency center when she was discharged. With the diligent care of her cardiologist and her primary care veterinarians, Stella has now made it to her 11th birthday and her cardiologist says she can now continue to live a happy and healthy life on her medications for more years to come. We wouldn't be able to provide this long term care to Stella and enjoy those extra years without Nationwide. Her medications cost more than $200/month, her bi-annual kidney panels required to stay on her medications are about $100 each, and her annual visit to her cardiologist runs anywhere from $500-$700. Not to mention the added x-rays and blood work necessary at each of her wellness checkups now. But Nationwide continues to cover her life saving and sustaining treatments. We couldn't do it without them and I can't say enough how amazing it is that they make the process so simple and straightforward. It takes the stress out of the finances so we can all just focus on giving Stella the love and care she needs. Many many thanks to Nationwide and all their employees!! Seriously. Thank you!!!!

Better Life for Doggy Daddy

This is my 5th dog to be insured thru Nationwide, the first that isn't a boxer, a breed that tends to require extra veterinary care. In all cases, knowing that insurance coverage was in force decisions to treat or not to treat was based on what was best for the dog, not how much I would be willing to spend. Having it has made the quality of life better for both dog and human!

Don't Recommend

Nationwide will find any reason to deny your claim and state your dog has a pre-existing condition. They denied my claim for a puppy I just adopted stating it was a pre-existing condition. I just got the dog! It's impossible.
