Lemonade is a new kind of pet insurance company that uses artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning.  They aim for zero paperwork and instant everything, and are obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and pets.

Very easy insurance

Lemonade makes it so easy to file a claim, everything is done through the app and you don’t have to call or sit and wait for hours to speak to someone. I love the online chat service because you can file a claim at literally anytime. I love that I can submit my supporting documentation via the same chat and reimbursement is quick. So happy we got lemonade for our fur baby.

Very easy to use, shady math with coverage

The app and submitting claims are very easy, the company pays very quickly on claims as well, which is great. My only complaint which is more a frustration is the way this company does their math as it relates to coinsurance and deductible is different than any other type of insurance I’ve ever had and clearly favors Lemonade, not the consumer. Then again, insurance companies number one goal is to make money, not to pay it out, so no surprise.

VETERINARIAN: Bellevue Cat Care Clinic

Super easy process. No hassle at all.

We had over $1000 in vet bills for our cat Tummy and had to make a claim with Lemonade for the first time. Their chat assistant made it super easy and quick to add all the relevant info necessary. After the initial claim, it took a bit of time, but there were no issues that really needed me to work through and I got the claim payment shortly after. Thanks Lemonade!

They use artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning, they aim for zero paperwork and instant everything. They’re also a Certified B Corporation TM, and donate unused premiums to nonprofits (including several pet-centric causes) that users select when they sign up. They’re on the CNBC Disruptor list, and ranked at the top among competitors and in the app store. They’re obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and our pets.
