So glad I chose Lemonade
I had an unexpected emergency operation for my dog Scott, after adopting him in 3 days. The procedure cost me $4000. It was after that unfortunate experience; I started to look for a pet insurance company. After extensive research I decided on Lemonade, so far, it’s everything I expected in a pet insurance company. Please note this review is based on standard physical and vaccine shots.

Insurance works!
I've had this insurance for my dog for about a year now. So far, it has covered 2 annual exams and one emergency visit. Submitting a claim is easy but must be done on your phone (so if you're not technically savvy it may present challenges). Payment is quick and directly to my attached bank account so no waiting around for checks to deposit. On top of that, they cover my veterinary clinic, which I love, so all the better. Definitely worth checking into if you have pets.

I could not be more satisfied with Lemonade’s ease of use. Submitting a claim is extremely easy and reimbursement is lightning fast. Policy terms clear with no unexpected loopholes. Highly recommend!
Monthly Cost
Policies start at $10/Month
Coverage
Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%,
80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Payout Limits
Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.
Deductible
$100, $250 or $500 annually.
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage
for pets as they age.
Waiting Period
All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods:
-2 days for accidents
-14 days for illnesses
-6 months for cruciate ligament events
There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.
Exclusions
Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
