Highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

I would highly recommend Healthy Paws pet insurance for every pet owner. Healthy Paws have saved me so much money over the past 5 and a half years. I have three cats that have had numerous claims over this period of time. First of all I highly suggest getting pet insurance the same day you bring a pet into your home. Healthy Paws is very responsive and very quick to reimburse directly into your bank account. They make it so easy to submit a claim and the explanation of benefits are very understandable. Again I highly recommend healthy paws pet insurance. Thank you Healthy Paws.

Solid coverage, good communication and customer service

My cat recently needed a surgery to remove a tumor. I filed a claim and Healthy Paws followed up promptly (within 24 hours) with a clear description of the documentation needed to verify coverage. The filing process was very straightforward, and I was provided clear explanations for which items in my invoice were and were not covered based on my policy. The vast majority of the surgery fee was covered and I received reimbursement checks in the mail within about 2 weeks. The team also sent a very caring individualized follow-up note checking in on how my cat was doing.

A good service at a bad time

I have been very happy with the services provided. It is easy to submit a claim and receive your payment, and even discuss with customer service (a rarity today). Would recommend to anyone for their beloved pet.

Prompt and Professional

I have been a Healthy Paws customer for more than 10 years. One of my dogs recently went through cancer treatment, and Healthy Paws' quick reimbursements made the "journey" easier and saved me so much money. If you sign up for direct deposit (instead of having checks mailed to you), the wait from filing a claim to reimbursement is less than a week. Whenever I have experienced a delay, it's been due to one the following: 1) My invoice was incorrect -- for instance, the bill for a medication purchased on Chewy.com should be the one entitled "Final Details," not just "Details," because "Final Details" includes any discounts. (Once when I submitted "Details," Healthy Paws sent me an email asking me to submit an invoice with my claim, so I was very confused. Understandably, there are many types of bill headings, but the email could have been clearer. I had to call to find out what was wrong.) 2) Paperwork was incomplete -- always provide every page, even if the last page merely shows that you have a zero balance at the vet's office. 3) The claim needed medical records -- ask your vet for a pdf of the relevant medical notes so that you can attach them to your claim. After Healthy Paws knows about a pet's condition, you don't need to continue providing records regarding, say, the monthly medication. The Healthy Paws' website is easy to navigate, so look at the list of plan exclusions and how reimbursements are calculated because it differs from human medical plans. I recommend calling to ask questions because the reps are helpful. No insurance is perfect because a pet owner wants low premiums with full coverage. But, whenever I experience unexpected vet visits, I am always thankful that I have Healthy Paws. You never want to delay or avoid treating your pet just because you don't have insurance.
