Years ago we lost a cat to cancer and because we didn't have pet insurance at the time, couldn't afford the treatment she needed. At that point, we vowed that for any future pet we would definitely get pet insurance.
That was 5yrs ago and since then added two more cats to our family. The day we picked up our kittens we enrolled them with Healthy Paws. Like most, we reviewed many pet insurance companies and felt the coverage from Healthy Paws was the right fit for what we were looking for in pet insurance.
Over that 5yr period we have relied on Healthy Paws twice. Once for an abdominal obstruction which required surgery and most recently to help pay for cancer treatments. Sadly, after 10 months our furry friend lost his battle but Health Paws was there to provide the financial support we needed.
I found the rates to be reasonable and their claims process and reimbursement times spot on! We will be welcoming two more additions to our pet family this weekend and signing them up with Healthy Paws will be a no brainer.
Healthy Paws insurance is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone looking for pet insurance. They have covered our dog Sasha since she was a puppy. When we found out that Sasha had cancer we were worried about cost of treatment and how much would be covered. The fact that Healthy Paws has no cap on treatment was a blessing in such scary times. They always answered the phone with a smile on their voice, resolved claims in a timely manner and have covered ALL of Sasha’s cancer treatments. We are heart broken that Sasha lost her battle with cancer, but we are certain that we gave her the best possible life she could have had, and that is partly due to Healthy Paws.
I have been with Healthy paws since September of 2014 for my dog, Opal, and recently purchased a 2nd policy in 2021 for my newest addition to the family Onyx. I am very happy with Healthy Paws coverage for both of my pets! Both were added when they were approximately 8 weeks old, and in our case there were no preexisting conditions. With two hard-headed Australian Cattle Dogs, we are no strangers to bumps, bruises, and surprise vet visits - most recently, my older dog needed surgery for two mass removals AND an ER visit when she had complications. Submitting a claim is as easy as snapping a few photos of the itemized invoices and medical records, and usually my claims are processes within 10 days. Honestly, having this insurance was a huge relief knowing that I didn't have to worry about the cost of treatment; I could just focus on Opal! Members from the Healthy Paws team even emailed us to ask how she was going following her visit, which meant a lot to me. Instead of a canned/generic check up email, it was genuine concern and details from her submitted claims, too so I know that real, pet-loving people are behind the the screen.
I recommend Healthy Paws to everyone, and will continue to do so!
I also recommend that new policy holders read over coverage so they understand what is/isn't in their policy, and try to gain coverage EARLY for their pets to avoid preexisting conditions. Pet Insurance doesn't replace preventative veterinary care, but is essential for when life throws its curveballs. 5/5 stars. We're members for life!
Healthy Paws has been great to work with since I added it on my two girls 6 years ago. It's simple to submit a claim and they pay out very quickly. One of my girls had to have surgery on both of her CCL tears and Healthy Paws reimbursed us the next day after submitting the invoice.

Thank goodness for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!
We just want to sincerely thank Healthy Paws for all they have done for us. Our 13 year old has is a cancer warrior and has needed various surgeries, chemotherapy, and veterinary care. Without Healthy Paws pet insurance, we wouldn’t have been able to give our dog the care and attention that he needs and deserves. The treatments and surgeries have literally saved his life and given us more time with our sweet boy. Healthy Paws does not have caps on his care and that is such a relief to us. We are so happy to be part of the Healthy Paws family and sing their praises to our friends! It is one of the best decisions we have made when we got our dog! We highly recommend them!

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
