Not For Travelers: Contract work, Military, Traveling Healthcare Workers

Healthy Paws is only a good option for coverage if you NEVER move locations. I have had Healthy Paws coverage since 2017. I’m active duty military and I would never have guessed my monthly premium for coverage would jump from $103 monthly to $478 monthly. I don’t choose where I live and I found this to be the greatest disappointment. The worst place you can find yourself is receiving a new cancer diagnosis after moving and then having to choose your pet or financial hardship. Now this is a known condition and I have no options to change insurers. Beware of unsustainable monthly premiums if you ever move with this company.

Pet Insurance Works

I at first was suspect that they wouldn't cover my dog's Vet bills. But after he was viciously mauled, Healthy Paws quickly paid out minus a deductible a considerable sum of money that kept my dog alive and healing. If I didn't have the insurance, with tens of thousands of dollars in Vet Hospital bills, we would have had to put my dog to sleep. Healthy Paws was extremely kind and caring during my numerous phone calls to them and they worked quickly to pay us within days of filing claims. Please get Insurance for your dog! It ended up being one of the best decisions we did for our dog.

Our Beloved Dachshund!

Our beloved dachshund, 7years old, hurt his back. We rushed him to our emergency vet. Hospital. Neurosurgeon determined he need immediately surgery if he were to walk again. Surgery was done almost immediately. Fees had to be paid ahead of time, of course. I can honestly say, we were so upset by the entire thing, I had forgotten we had pet insurance. It didn’t matter. We love our little guy. Surgery was successful. He’s already walking a bit. It’s only been 2 weeks since surgery. When I sent the cost and estimate to Healthy Paws, my husband and I didn’t expect almost the entire procedure to be covered. A week after we did the paper work, Healthy Paws responded with almost the entire procedure minus our deductable was covered. We were more than pleased! In addition to the financial coverage, what impressed us the most was HP’s always asking about our pup whenever the corresponded they with us. I strongly recommend Healthy Paws if you are looking for a reliable, caring company to deal with a special member of your family. You will be very happy you did.

Wonderful company. No questions asked for a claim

Our dogs has had 4 major surgeries and 4 minor surgeries and Healthy Paws has paid everything with no questions. Ziva’s total cost of surgeries is around $70,000 and we have only paid 20%. I will never use another company. Once we place the claim it is only about a week later that we have the check. Wonderful company! The key is to get the dog on the insurance at a young age. When we started her as a puppy it was only $35 a month. As she aged the insurance has gone up. The price does not go up based on the number of claims.

Used them for 3 years and they delivered when I needed them

I started a health insurance plan for my dog when we rescued him from the shelter 3 years ago. Fortunately, I didn't need to submit any claims to Healthy Paws for about 3 years and it seemed I was paying for something I wasn't really needing....until we had a doggie medical issue that required surgery. Filing the claim with Healthy Paws was easy. I paid the vet bill at the time of service, went home and opened the Healthy Paws app. I took a picture of the vet bill through the app and sent in the claim. Healthy Paws asked for the vet notes to be sent over to them as well, and after my vet sent over the notes, I had a check in my mailbox covering exactly what they said they would cover. When my dog went in for surgery 2 weeks later, I did the same thing with the pet hospital bill, and again within 2 weeks I got a check from them that covered everything they promised to cover. The policy saved my thousands of dollars on the surgery. There were no "fine print" issues or "got'cha" technicalities. Their coverage details were clear from day 1 and they delivered exactly as advertised when I needed them most. The health insurance is a gamble, but if you're looking for it, my experience with this company has been wonderful. They even sent out an email asking how my dog was doing about a week after his surgery. Healthy Paws came through when I needed them and filing claims with my phone and the app was simple. My dog is healing from surgery, and I would have been scrambling to find a way to pay if I didn't have this plan with Healthy Paws. If you're questioning how reliable they would be if your pet had an issue, I couldn't ask for a better and easier experience than what they just provided for me and my dog.
