Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Admittedly, this is the easiest review I've ever had to write. Long story short, Healthy Paws took me on in September and two months later my dog was scheduled for surgery due to unforseen medical reasons. Instead of them coming up with reasons to deny my claim, they went above and beyond figuring out ways to pay me. Quite simply, they made the claim process easy and painful, consequently led to me and my family being stress free. If you're looking for a company that will take care of you and your pet; Healthy Paws hands-down is the best in the business.

They are the best! My pet -- Simba -- had a very serious life threatening experience that required that he spend four days at the vets recuperating. Healthy Paws came thru for us with coverage for our tramatic experience. If they hadn't we would have been saddled with a very high pet bill that would have been horrendous.

Our 1yr old curious coonhound was either bitten or stung in the early morning hours. After being seen by our vet, she was given numerous antibiotics not only for her swollen leg but also for an ear infection which the vet found. Our vet sent in the claim form and medical records on a Saturday and we promptly received an email on Sunday that the claim check was being processed. In the meantime we received emails from Healthy Paws asking how she was doing. The emails were not automated as they were personally addressed and addressed the specific ailments. I have had banfield and VPI in the past, but switched to healthy paws based upon the reviews I read on this site and I am glad I did. I have submitted two claims so far and have experienced excellent customer service (I dealt with Meredith and she was awesome to work with; she explained all of the details clearly and demonstrated sincerity). For two dogs, my monthly rate is $75/$100 annual deductible each pet. This particular insurance policy assumes a responsible owner will pay for all preventative care and office exam fees (roughly about $30-40), which I am in complete agreement; pets cost money, if you want one, there will be an assumption of financial responsibility. I recently fulfilled my $100 deductible after just two visits and from this point forward, will have 90% coverage until next year. This is a great plan for responsible pet owners who want peace of mind in the event your pet suffers from an injury or illness. My dogs get all of their annual vaccs and heartworm check, but hardly ever get sick, but this plan sure came in handy when my chihuahua developed ringworm and a tumor.

I don't usually send emails like this, but healthy paws service has been so outstanding I had to let everyone know! As you know, pets are like extended family members just with 4 legs and Sarge is no different to me. He is the most sweet loving puppy, and the poor guy for being only 8 months old has had his fair share of problems. Beings this is my first dog, I didn't know what to expect from a pet insurance provider. Let me tell you, ANY expectations I had Healthy Paws FAR exceeded!!! I have had enough stress worrying about the well being of Sarge and they have made one thing MUCH less stressful forme. To anyone looking for health insurance for there pet, LOOK no further. They are cost effective, super courteous, and FAST! What more could one ask for? A+ from me and my pup Sarge! :0)
